I received the Breville pressure cooker for Christmas this year and am still learning how to use it. So far I've mastered hard boiled eggs <lol>, chicken stock and refried beans. I tried this Bolognese recipe that called for bacon, which I found overpowered the sauce and made it very greasy. I used an extra can of tomatoes because it just looked very very thick. I threw the leftovers in the freezer and will use it in a baked ziti, hoping it'll help cut the flavor. I have this Loaded Chunky Potato soup on the menu for this week because I have a ton of potatoes I need to use up. Anyone have any tried and true recipes for the pressure cooker? I've had enough failures from blog recipes that I'm cautious about what I try. I received a pressure cooker cookbook for Christmas, but it disappeared. Pressure cookers must have been THE Christmas gift this year because all the cookbooks were checked out of the library. Maria

Congratulations. I don't know how much help I can be.I have Wolfgang Puck's Mini rice cooker. I think it kind of works on the same principle. So far I've been winging and eyeballing it since the recipe booklet that came with it is not very good. I've made orzo in it and orzo with shrimp And vegetables. Next I'm planning on adding some ramen noodles, chicken broth, Asian seasonings and shrimp. Another is an asparagus frittata, ramen crab or shrimp egg foo yung, and steaming dumplings. I saved a bunch of recipes that I found on Pinterest I'd like to try. Hopefully someone here will have some tried and true recipes Have fun with your new Cooking toy.

I use my pressure cooker for beans nearly every week. Do you like cannelini beans or blackeyed peas? If so I can give you a step by step that's super easy. You'll need onions, bay leaves, garlic, olive oil and crushed red pepper.

I use my pressure cooker for risotto (both white rice and brown rice) far and away more often than anything else. In fact, I'm not sure I'd make risotto at all without it (don't have the patience for the stirring! Even though my DH bought me an auto-stirrer all the way from Sweden). Somewhere I have a wonderful receipe for a rosemary and orange beef stew which I'll try to find. Those are really the only things I use mine for. I have at least 2 pressure cooker cookbooks, but the recipes never sound good to me, not sure why.

Maria Wish I had room for another appliance, or I'd be tempted to make this chocolate cheesecake (or Meyer lemon cheesecake) ;-) www.suziethefoodie.com/pressure-cooker-chocolate-cheesecake/www.friedalovesbread.com/2014/09/15-minute-baked-chocolate-cheesecake.htmlI was looking for an adaptable recipe for my little rice cooker, when I came across your post/query.
