I've accumulated quite the collection of CL Annuals (something like 16?) over the years - it was a "tradition" that my Mom would get me one for Christmas. This year she commented that there wasn't one to be found. Once she mentioned that, I noticed there hasn't been any kind of advertising or pre-order announcements for the annual. I've poked around the CL website and didn't find any thing and there's nothing on Amazon.
Anybody know if the Annual has been discontinued?

Hmmmm..... Interesting. Very odd if they have stopped. I mean, they may have taken down their message board, but the mag continues on. So... Do they normally start advertising their YEARLY around Christmas time? BTW: I got a birthday email from them a coupla days ago...I figure they have my birthday from the old CLBB. ?

I seem to recall seeing the adverts for it about Thanksgiving, or the Nov issue - I suppose with the idea that people would buy it for Christmas, like my Mom would do. So I was a bit surprised when she said it wasn't out this year.
I'm wondering, with everything being available on-line now, if an Annual has become redundant?

Perhaps last few years the book didn't sell well. I wonder if they will continue to do other books like they have in the past.

Interesting.
Curious I went to Amazon and looked up the CL annual. Many popped up, all with a November publication date, but none for this year.
I also looked up Southern Living to see if they had an annual this year, and they did, BUT the reviews on it are not very good. Several complaints about the quality going majorly downhill this year.
I have the CL annuals for 2000-2009, I was getting them every year for Christmas for a while, but then the magazine format changed so I stopped getting the annuals.

I bought them for a few years and stopped since I wasn't really using them. Most of what I wanted I could find easier online or I already saved in MC. It probably wasn't selling well in the past years. I would always see the books at Costco for way less than what CL was selling them for too.

Do you mean Cooking Light 2016? Is it a compilation of all the recipes from 2016? I tried to Google cooking light 2017 annual, and came up with one or two sites where you could Download the recipes in PDF format. Unfortunately my phone did not recognize the PDF file, so I was not able to read it.

Unfortunately, nope. Cooking Light "goofed" years and years ago with the annuals and they ended up being off a year. Ie, if you go to Amazon and look closely at the description, the 2016 Annual will be all the recipes from 2015. I've come to the conclusion that the 2017 (for 2016) Annual doesn't exist, and only time will tell if CL publishes one or not. The question now becomes, how long to hang onto my magazines...?

I am so excited that I finally was able to track down and purchase the Cooling Light Annual Recipes 2017 cookbook. After not receiving an answer to my first email to Cooking Light asking about the cookbook, my second email was answered. I was instructed to call Time Inc. customer service. From the regular customer service person, I was transferred to the single copy department (800-274-6800). I had to give my name and zip code (again), no account number, and repeatedly had to say I was not missing a single magazine delivery, but I was wanting to buy the CL 2017 Annual Recipes cookbook. I was transferred a third time, and had to wait over 13 minutes, but a person named Consuela answered, looked up the book, found the code, and said it was in stock. I told her I did not mean to be questioning her accuracy, but since it was never available on Amazon, in the stores, or even promoted by Cooking Light, I wanted to be sure it was the book I was looking for. She said it shows they had 700 copies in stock. I had to pay full price ($34.95) plus shipping, for a total of $42.90, and placed the order March 23rd. I received my copy yesterday !!! it does not have a paper wrap-around cover, but it is the unused, new, official Cooking Light Annual Recipes 2017 with all of the recipes from 2016.
Good news to those who have collected this book series and want to continue their collection. Just be patient with the process.

Thanks for the update! I agree - weird that there is NO advertising and it can't be found anywhere but from Time, Inc. I'll admit, I had given up. But with a $43.00 price tag...I'm not sure I want to pay *that* much.

With the end of the year rolling around, I thought I would see if any used Cooking Light Annual - 2017 had showed up on Amazon. Nope. BUT! Much to my surprise, the Cooking Light Annual - 2018 will be released on Nov 10! I admit, I'm a bit torn - my A-type personality wants to keep the cookbook collection going, with all my happy notes and post-its littering the pages. The more realistic side of me acknowledges that I can Pin all my recipes now and save shelf space by using the resources on the computer. Tho, this whole internal debate might be solved for me if my Mom sees the ckbk and gives it as a Christmas present (which is how I got 2001-2016).
