IF you're like me, you have a few food items that you've purchased and then don't know what to do with them. Let's air them here. TJ's Bacon Jam is one. I thought DS would like it when he was home for TG, but he said Yuck, even though he loves bacon. It hasn't been opened, so the Yuck comment wasn't based on taste. I think it can be used as a spread for bagels with cream cheese, and perhaps paired with some cheese and crackers, but other than that, I don't know. I think I will try something over the holidays with it. Any try it? Ideas? What do you have sitting in your panty that you aren't sure what to do with?

In WI, they used to make chocolate dipped bacon strips for the state fair. I bet if you made chocolate chip cookies and added that to the batter, it would be very good!
You could probably mix it with cream cheese and use it as a dip as well.

Jam is good in grilled cheese sandwiches or quesadillas so consider using it as a spread in a grilled cheese sandwich or something like a chicken, cheese, and bacon jam quesadilla. Maybe with a little dijon mustard too.
It might also be good as the jam in brie kisses. I make them in the filo cups with a bit of brie and a blob of jam.

Great ideas! Thanks. I guess once I open the jar and try it, I'll have a better idea of what to do with it. It might be so good that I have to get another jar.

Might be good with a bagel and cream cheese --or on an egg sandwich for breakfast, but it is great on meat and or cheese sandwiches, burgers -- think grilled cheese and the brie kisses are good ideas too. Maybe spread some over the top of a meat loaf, mix it into meatballs if you need to hide it to use it up. I had wanted to try bacon jam so we finally made some while the boys were home and DS's GF was here this summer. Couldn't decide, so we made 2. Liked them both, but definitely had my favorite -- and it was the smaller, simpler recipe. We did burgers and I just used than and some lettuce -- maybe a slice of cheese. Nothing else needed.

My husband has been eating this in the morning for breakfast on bread/crackers. He spreads it with cream cheese or hummus and ....gasp....sometimes even with peanut butter. He has a strong morning stomach....not me!!! But it is not that bad...the jam alone anyway, but not really my thing. I did also buy their newest one to try which I might like better, but we have not opened it yet. It is a caramelized onion and roasted garlic jam. I had a flavor like that from Stonewall kitchen a few years ago which was good, so if it TJ's tastes similar, I might go for that one.
Cafelatte, if you decide that you don't want to open/use it or discover that you don't like it, just take it back for a full refund.

Costco magazine just had a recipe for bacon cheddar waffles. I wonder if you could sub that for the bacon......

I had a jar of maple bacon jam from Stonewall Kitchen and used it as a sauce for appetizer meatballs. I often heat up preserves (apricot or peach) to brush on a tenderloin while it is cooking. Is bacon jam on a pork roast too much pig?

I forgot to post that we tried this and it's quite good. A bit of a sweetness to it too. It paired well with some cheese, but I didn't serve it to guests. DS2 still didn't want to try it. I guess he's just into plain bacon. I'd buy it again.
