This is easy as most sheet cakes are and the cola does add a depth of flavor. Don't use diet coke as the taste doesn't last for baking

CLINTON: This is not your typical chocolate cake because it gets a lot of its flavor from the cola which gives the cake an almost malted quality. It’s very unique and surprising, and I love it. Karen has been making this dish for her family for over fifteen years, and I think that once you try this one yourself, you’ll be adding it into the monthly recipe rotation. I bet you’ve even got all of the ingredients for this in your pantry right now! So what are you waiting for?
FOR THE CAKE:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup cola
6 tablespoons cocoa
½ cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
FOR THE ICING:
1 stick unsalted butter
6 tablespoons cola
3 tablespoons cocoa
3 cups powdered sugar
1 cup raspberries, to garnish
FOR THE CAKE:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Grease a 9 × 13 baking pan, then set aside.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
4. In a sauce pot, add butter, cola, and cocoa, then mix to combine. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat and transfer to the bowl of a mixer.
5. In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Add this to the mixer. Mix until well combined and add to cola mixture.
6. With the mixer on low, add the dry ingredients to the wet in 2 or 3 batches.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
FOR THE ICING:
8. In a medium saucepan, add butter, cola, and cocoa. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat and transfer to the bowl of a mixer.
9. With the mixer on low, slowly add the powdered sugar until incorporated. Spread evenly over warm cake.
10. Serve with fresh raspberries.
TIP: When taking a cake to a party, the last thing you want is for it to slide all over the place and ruin your hard work. The Chew viewer Anthony, from Fort Worth, Texas, puts a rubber shelf liner in the bottom of his container or bag to prevent slipping. Brilliant!—Clinton”
