We are going to a picnic next weekend, and I was asked to bring a side dish to go with some kind of pork sandwiches. Anyone made anything good lately? Only catch is it has to be something that can be made the day before since I'll be going there straight from work. Thanks!

This Roasted Potato Salad would be good and potato salad is always better the next day. I don't like tarragon, I used parsley and chives for the herbs.

I love this Asian Slaw with pulled pork. I roughly double the amount of veggies for the amount of dressing that is listed in the recipe and play around with the various veggies I use depending on what's on hand. www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/guy-fieri/asian-slaw-recipe.htmlA side note: in this forum, how do I embed the url in the recipe name like PattiA did above?

To embed a link, you have to use the full reply rather than the quick reply. You can start a reply as a quick reply, then click the Reply button on the right side of the screen if you decide you want to add some formatting to your reply.
Select the text for the link, then click the tiny link button that is on the Reply toolbar. It is the first button in the last section of buttons on the toolbar. (How's that for clear?) Then type or paste the URL into the box that opens when you click the link button.

A side note: in this forum, how do I embed the url in the recipe name like PattiA did above? I just made some instructions over on the Technical Support board. Good luck! And, I just saw Patti did the same, too. Thanks, Patti!

Happy to pitch in with ProBoards techniques questions. I've been a ProBoards user for a few years. If I see technical questions outside of the Tech Support board, I will answer them there.

That potato salad and slaw both sound really good. I'll probably make one of those. Thanks!

Baked beans are easy. I just reposted my southwestern bean salad recipe that would work well.

Pasta salad is one option. It can be made ahead and served cold, you can use any pasta of choice, add in pantry ingredients on hand and/or fresh seasonal vegetables, cheese(s) and dressing of choice - i.e. marinated artichoke hearts, cherry tomatoes, fresh corn, olives, roasted peppers, cukes, zukes or summer squash, onions/scallions/chives, marinated mushrooms, beans, and so on. Some examples Tortellini pasta salad joanne-eatswellwithothers.com/2014/07/mediterranean-tortellini-salad-red-wine-vinaigrette.html#_a5y_p=4337679More ideas: thehappyhousie.porch.com/25-incredible-bbq-salad-side-dishes/One of my personal favorites is caprese pasta salad with orecchiette pasta. Feel free to change it out, and make it your own. www.simplyscratch.com/2016/08/caprese-pasta-salad-2.html
