I purchased a set of Kirkland pots and pans last year when we moved into a house with an induction cooktop since my Calphalon anodized aluminum wasn't going to work on it. I really avoid making as much as I can on the cooktop because I hate it (I'm used to gas). I was using one of the pans the other day and noticed it had warped and no longer sits flat. I've probably only used this one about 3 times. I'm thinking of taking them back since I read some reviews where someone else had this happen and maybe it's a matter of time before it happens to another one. Has anyone experience this with any other pots and pans? This is new to me. I'm so close to replacing the cooktop with a gas one. This is the set I have

What a shame! They look lovely, too. Costco seems to be quite liberal about their return policy so I'd certainly go that route. I've not had that happen exactly, but I did have something weird happen to one of my older pieces of Cuisinart stainless. I believe I'd purchased the piece back in the early eighties. It was one of the few pieces I really didn't abuse in some way (I do not treat my cookware with kid gloves, sorry to say.) One day, my husband pointed out that the metal disk on the bottom of a large saucepan was starting to separate from the body of the pan. Would you consider that a form of warpage? I emailed the company, was told to send it back to them and if they determined I'd done nothing wrong, they'd replace it. Shortly thereafter, I received a new pot and lid. It's not exactly what I had before, but the product line I'd purchased was no longer being manufactured. I was fine with the substitution so all ended well.

Wow, Gail. That's weird that the bottom of the pan was separating. If I could only replace the one pan for the time being, I'd be happy to do that. However, since it's a set, it's either all or nothing with them.
Costco does have a good return policy, but I have never returned anything used or half eaten there before. I was returning something DH bought and decided he didn't want and the man in front me of was returning an opened bottle of wine. I didn't get to see what he label was, or hear what the problem was. I would have asked the lady at the counter and been nosy, but there were a few people behind me in line and I didn't want to hold it up.
I plan on going later this week and I just might take them back.

I recently returned a box of peaches to Costco. they looked lovely but were inedible. I had my receipt and the empty box. they didn't want the fruit. I felt a little odd doing it, but the lady behind me had a box of pomegranates to return. I bought a 3 pack of flashlights once. one failed immediately. I think they had me return all 3, and get a new package of them.
I would call ahead and ask what the procedure is, and what pieces you need to return. it might vary with the product. for the fruit, they said just the box.

They are very generous with returns. They have all your purchases on file if you don't have your receipt anymore and can look you up by your account. I would not hesitate to return a failed pan. How else will they know to fix it/quality control it?!

I would THINK that since the item was only available as a set that they would offer you the option of either replacing the entire set or giving you a refund. I'd be surprised, actually, if they don't. I once felt silly about returning some meat to them (who returns meat, right?) I'd purchased it, bought it home and the next day it turned a disturbing color. They could've questioned me up and down as to how it was transported or stored, but nope. They gave me a refund, no questions asked. I recently looked on their web site because I'd purchased a book, brought it home and discovered I'd already gotten that one. The web site seems to imply that if you don't like something, you can bring it back at any time.

I know Costco will give me a refund for the set. I normally don't go for sets, but since I had to buy a lot of new pieces for the induction cooktop, this one was a great deal and had many of the sized pans I would use. I've read enough negative online to not want to chance another set.

I am very much an anti-return person. It takes a lot for me to decide to return or exchange something and I hardly ever do it.
That being said, I've done returns at Costco. Wow! No receipt required, no real questions asked, if you aren't fully satisfied they believe you are right to return an item. Earlier this year they had a bunch of recalls on frozen fruits and vegetables. They looked up my account and refunded me for every bag that I'd bought during a certain period of time. I didn't have to take the product in or anything. I was amazed.
I would take the set of pans back. Did you use all the pieces in the set? You might be better off going someplace where you can buy just the pans you will use. I know with sets there are always pieces I seldom use and wish I didn't have taking up space.

The pan that warped was the larger saute pan in the front left of the photo. I think I actually have used all the pieces over the course of the year. I do have a few other pots and pans that are for induction cooking as well, so all not lost for now. If I do get a gas cooktop, I can dig out my old Calphalon pieces and won't need to buy any more.
