HELLO TO ALL - FROM CATBATTY Hot enough for you??? Ready to run away??? But where TO? ? Some thoughts that keep going through my head and I think I will share them: END OF JULY IS ALMOST HERE -- PERHAPS NOW IS THE TIME TO START GATHERING UP WHAT WE MADE THIS MONTH...IN PREPARATION FOR ONE OF THE FAVORITE PARTS OF OUR FORUM -- THE SECTION WHERE AWESOME MEMBERS SHARE "HITS & MISSES"!REMEMBERING HOW WE ALWAYS LOVED THAT PART OF THE COOKING LIGHT FORUM, LONG AGO. (I did...yet I seldom kept and shared what we'd made.) I so want to make up for that. PERHAPS A REMINDER A WEEK AHEAD? (So, it would remind me and us to FOCUS a week ahead and do the hard work. Because I believe: IT IS WORK!!!!!) I am so so so thankful to the members who participate in that section (and in all sections). You are, imho, angels and heroes. -------- What other thoughts have been going through my mind? Trying to remember. Oh heck, what's been going through YOUR minds??Wallycat, I'm so sorry. I could not even read your recent post about going to vet. I can't take it. My heart goes out to you. But I just can't. I get too torn up. SO, what you all doing and thinking? Are you bring lazy at home? Are you MORE inspired to organize? Or less? Are you vacationing? HUGS and MORE OF THEM, Catbatty

Forgot to mention what I've been up to: art classes online. recipe stuff. ripping house apart...trying to get all art stuff organized (I have addiction for art supplies and recipe stuff.) Staying indoors with heat pump going -- keeps cool. (We put a bunch of 'clean outs' on sidewalk with FREE sign...gone within the hour--a bike, cookbooks, camping chairs, office chair. People LOVE freebies and it's so fun to delight them...plus no need to stay outside...they can take and we can stay indoors if the urge hits us. Enjoying FREE more than giving garage sale. FAR less work. NOTHING to drag back inside when nobody wants to buy some of it. Free = GONE!! We do it whenever we have a few larger things to get rid of that we don't feel like loading up. FUN. Did I ever mention: one time, someone left us $2.00? I thought that was so sweet and kind and unexpected. We have lovely neighbors here in our 55+ neighborhood.)

LOVED your way of dealing with your "clean outs"...
I am an avid Freecycler. It bothers me no end to see the amount of useable items people put out for trash pickup.
About 15 years ago, a friend was going to clean out his garage by simply getting a very large dumpster and tossing. I asked him to give me a chance and try Freecycle.
He emptied the garage and grouped stuff together. I began posting on Freecycle, getting replies, arranging pickups...by the end of the day the amount of true trash was easily contained in one trash can.
He honestly could not believe it. To this day, he's a true believer in Freecycle.
