(SEE MY DEC 2023 POST--THE LAST POST TO THIS THREAD--IT IS NOW END OF 2023 AND MC'S OWNER IS STILL GIVING AWAY MASTERCOOK 14 !!!!!!!!!!) (Also is offering newer versions on sale.) Great news, imho, for holidays! I am thrilled. Myself, I'm buying the next version already, to be issued in Feb 2024! For us MC addicts, this is all very exciting!!
- I don't own or have any profits from Mastercook. Just a fellow lover of the program. GET MC and we can SHARE (via email or Dropbox, etc., MC'd recipes and cookbooks--PLUS, there is a recipe group where we share ready-to-click-on- recipes--they instantly import into our software!!! Catbatty
Old post of from first time MC made this offer: First time I've ever seen them do this! Received this notification in Mastercook group. FREE MC14. It is an older version of Mastercook. But hey. It is my belief that the guts of the program still work same way. (I've owned all versions since 1996.) In other words, I can share 'cookbooks' and recipes with you, using my newest version, MC22. So, this should be a very good thing for you and anyone you care to share it with.) (PS: There are a couple of RECIPE groups for us MC users to join, too. I've long been member of them. Love it.) (PPS: Yes, I'm sure that this free deal is a way to build desire for folks to buy in future, but still...I know folks who continue to use the not current build and they seem happy enough. I do like the new features, like dates added or modified and the larger font choices in some of the screens.) If questions, you can always write to their support people OR join the Mastercook Discussion group and post/ask there (main@MasterCook.groups.io). Pam Erickson, who some of you are familiar with, owns and runs that group. She is MC's main support person. I am going to post this to friends and family, too. Notification reads:Please let your friends and family know that MasterCook is giving MasterCook 14 away for free right now. See here: mastercook.com/intro-to-mastercook-digital-download Feel free to share in your other recipe groups and forums. 😃

NEW OFFERING -- NOVEMBER 2022 MASTERCOOK 14 (+ 8,000 recipes) is FREE, once again --- (it's MC's 30th anniversary) INFO AND DOWNLOAD LINK: mastercook.com/intro-to-mastercook-digital-download?inf_contact_key=012bc0aab62eb5a8b88611a90ce5670fb7af0999dac2af6212784c39e05d2aefMAC users: it says you can have it, but you have to install Windows and that there are instructions how to do it. MC14 is older version, but has most of the same abilities. For instance, if I were to email you one of my own recipes or 'cookbooks' in MC fashion, you could load it into your older MC. In other words, it's a way to share with other MC users if you care to. (You can also print out or email recipes to non-MC owners, too.) Nowadays, MC sells for big bucks. The older versions were less. And free was never!

UPDATE JUNE 2023: MASTERCOOK (NEWEST) ON SALE 1/2 PRICE. Anything they make is currently 1/2 PRICE, ALSO. I BELIEVE. ([Please don't be angry with me if I am wrong about how long or if still...but pretty sure I got email from MC folks recently.)
(They have to generate business, bring in the bucks...cost to produce and do all the many online things they do for us, is hugely expensive. So, this rare sale is a very good thing. Most of the other recipe software makers threw in the towel or began yearly big fees, etc. It's really just too costly to produce, but MC's owner has put a few of his own million into the biz and isn't going to let it go under.)
ALSO, PRETTY SURE (much older--but still good) MASTERCOOK 14 is still free. It came out...maybe 10 years ago? I've owned all the versions since 1996.
(BTW: I opened my old MC14 on an older laptop of mine...didn't look long...was rushing through, and keep in mind that I have used several updated versions since then so my memory is dim on the subject, but it sure looked modern and usable. (AND, IF ANY OF YOU GET THE FREE ONE, support still will help you if you need it...and so can I (because I can open my own and quickly get my memory back in order to be of assistance. AND, I am 99 percent sure that I we can share 'cookbooks' between us and etc...even if we have different versions of Mastercook!
I hate to advertise here. We are not supposed to. But in the case of RECIPE SOFTWARE THAT IS GREAT AND I am longtime user and swear by it.... I am DOING IT! (i ALSO love sharing ANY great software that I adore. So kill me now. I figure I am helping my beloved friends here..who are addicts to recipes and related JUST LIKE ME!)
Happy days!

Mastercook version 14 is *still* being offered for FREE, folks!! (And pretty good discounts are being offered for version coming out soon in Feb 24.) We who huddle around anything Mastercook are pretty excited! And, there is a different sale on for those of us to presently own the CURRENT version, Mastercook 22. The owner is looking for investors, if you know of anybodies, please holler. (Recipe software is expensive to produce and most have gone under. We are so hoping MC will continue through the years to come. If that stops at some time in the future, we will still have our own copies and they can be used into the future, so take heart. And I love that we can share cookbooks with folks who own different versions. OH, and we can use our Mastercook software on all the Windows computers we own. No limit like 1 per person, like some used to do. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! (PLUS, I think I heard something about a MAC version coming out...but I'll believe that when I see it. Perhaps I misunderstood. Perhaps they meant for IPHONEs. I dunno.) If you want me to dig up more info, please contact me and I will be happy to find out more. I presently own about 20,000 'cookbooks' I believe, all safe and secure (and cloud backed up) in my Mastercook software program...from almost 30 years of owning my very first MC version 3 in 1996. My very first 'cookbook' is one that a fellow did up and posted on AOL back in 1995. I'll never forget the experience. I downloaded it, it was BBQ, and I thought it was some small collection. I downloaded it...and forgot about it. Months later, after I had purchased MC3, I figured why not open it? I did. It INSTANTLY loaded up a 'cookbook' that had a little over EIGHTEEN HUNDRED BBQ RELATED RECIPES IN IT! (All organized alphabetically, or push a button and it changed to other sorting, like Author, Source, Category, etc.) I was blown away!!!!! I found the guy, thanked him, and we became good online friends.
