We recently bought a PowerXL Air Fryer Grill from Costco and, so far, I like it. But I would like to have an air fryer cookbook to give me some ideas and recipes. Have any of you found a book that talks about how to use an air fryer along with some recipes?
This PowerXL is more like toaster oven, meaning that it doesn't have the usual air fryer basket so it's easier to spread out the cooking items for better heat distribution. I've tried a few different foods like fish sticks and french fries and have been happy with the results. I just need more ideas.

I think America's test kitchen has a book. You might want to check their site to see if they offer some free recipes to see if you like how they present ideas. Don't forget your library!

Thanks, wallycat, for the reply and the ATK suggestion. They do have a cookbook.
As for our library, no such luck. It is a small library but they do offer online service to Libby that has many cooking magazines and several dealing dealing with air frying.

Don't forget that most libraries belong to a consortium and you can interlibrary loan just about any book that is at least 1 year in print. I do it all the time and I used to do it for patrons when I worked at a library. You can check amazon for the title/author, year of print and the ISBN number. That's pretty much all they need. Let us know how it works out. I've been on the fence on the air fryer and the instant pot so I always hope someone posts their opinions.

Richard, I was just browsing the ebooks list on our library link and BHG has an air fryer issue out. Easy to look at on my computer screen. In case you're still looking for more options.

Thank you, wallycat, I'll look for it. I've been away from the forum for a few days so I just now saw your posting.

I bought the same air fryer recently. I have wavered on how useful they are. I don't eat most of the foods people rave about. dont eat wings, or fries or other fried foods. . I do like roasted vegetables and am working on using the air fryer as an alternate to the regular oven. I got this one because its useful as a toaster oven. I love roasted sweet potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower .

Well, it's been a year since we both bought the same air fryer. There are some things I'm not too happy with, such as food sticking to the crisper tray and the issue of trying to clean the inside of the fryer. I once used the grill pan to cook a steak and it popped and splattered all over the inside. Now when it heats the kitchen smells like beef steak.
Have you found any cook books that give some good recipes? I find most of mine via the Internet just by searching for "air fryer......"

I haven't evolved much. still use it like a toaster oven. when I roast vegies , I use the regular oven. dh and I lean vegetarian. the size of the air fryer limits what fits. if I roast cauliflower or broccoli I need more space. I use it like a toaster oven rather than an air fryer. there was a plate inside in the top of the oven I didn't notice(careless) first so I might not have gotten a functional air fryer to begin with. I dont eat the things people rave about. if I'm roasting a big pan of vegies, rather than a series of small trays I do it all at once.

Wallycat: You might want to look at Goodwill or thrift stores for an Instant Pot if you want to test one out and perhaps even keep. (But I know you don't have many of those places up where you are. Still, there is at least one that I went to there.) Down here in Portland, Oregon, I've seen several...they are going for around $25 which is quite a savings. Most places have at least a coupla weeks return policy. We now can't cook without our IP. PS: Today or tomorrow I am going to try making RISOTTO in ours. If it succeeds it will thrill me no end. (I like them with thyme and red bells and/or mushrooms...and made into PATTIES and grilled or fried...or okay, anyway I can get risotto that is good. QUICK will be all the better. If anything can do it, it'll be this wonderful Instant Pot.) Sorry to interrupt this thread. Couldn't help myself. You know me and IP's. <gulp> Catbatty
