Hi, I am new to this forum and I am delighted. I love food, I love experimenting with recipes and try to find nutritious and delicious ways to cook different things. Other things I like are hiking and just go out to the forest. So as I was reading my news bin today I found this wonderful article about a couple who forages chanterelle mushrooms and I thought you would all enjoy this: Mushroom foragers hit the jackpotI have always wanted to become a forager but I kind of get scared of not knowing how to identify mushrooms and then ending up eating anything dangerous,,, so I just stick to berries haha! I know my berries!!! But I would like to see what people here thinks about foraging? and if anyone here does it, and what type of goodies do you forage for? -Miss Pie

Do not forage for mushrooms unless you know what you are doing. That's the best advice I got. I've gone with people who have done it for years and I know my area. Mushrooms can kill. Not sure where you are located. In Europe, you can bring your 'shrooms to the local pharmacy and they can help ID them for you.

Oh wow how nice!!!! (about pharmacies helping in ID)... I am in the USA, we don;t have that, but yeah I don't forage for mushrooms unless I am with experts. But I know my berries in the Pacific Northwest and we have lots of them
