I'm almost out of my Penzey's Vietnamese Cinnamon and I can't place an order for just one item. Unfortunately, I didn't realize I was so low on it when I placed my last order. Soooo, what brand do you use?

I typically go to the co-op/health food store and get it from their bulk spice/tea area. I miss having a Penzey's I could just drive to. If you order supplements on line, some of those places sell food too; you could see if there was something available.

I am primarily a Penzey's Vietnamese Cinnamon person, but I have gotten some from My Spice Sage (it may have been free when I purchased something else). It is okay -- compares favorably to grocery store varieties but I prefer Penzey's. You might ry Spice Jungle -- sister to Beanilla, the vanilla people.

I buy King Arthur Vietnamese cinnamon, either from the company itself or from Amazon.

I've usually bought the grocery store brand (McCormicks). I've always wanted to try Penzey's but usually don't want to wait the 2 weeks to receive an order. I finally bought some: loved the Korinje cinnamon, but I thought the Ceylon was meh. Guess I should try the Vietnamese cinnamon.
Any recommendations on which chili powder to try? We don't like things too hot.

I am also a Penzeys Vietnamese cinnamon fan but lately my husband has been making banana smoothies every morning and adding cinnamon. And since he typically dumps everything but the kitchen sink into his moothies, I bought some cinnamon from Costco for his breakfasts. I have been using it as well on my oatmeal and reserving the more expensive Penzeys stuff for nice baking/cooking projects. I have to admit that the Costco cinnamon is very good. For another Penzey's option, their house cinnamon is also good but not quite as complex/deep as the Vietnamese. I think they call it "Penzey's cinnamon."
As for chili powder, I like their medium-hot chili powder as a nice all purpose chili powder with good flavor and not too spicy. But my absolute favorite for its complexity and flavor is the Chili 9000. Love that stuff!

I use the costco cinnamon which I am guessing is Mccormicks. just guessing. it's fine for my needs. I like cinnamon but I dont think my tastes buds could tell a lot of difference. I need to be bludgeoned to detect differences.

I use The Spice House's Saigon (vietnamese) and Ceylon cinnamons. McGee, if you only order flatpacks from The Spice House, shipping is free. They have Saigon, Ceylon, and Korintje cinnamons. One nice way to compare them is to get the flatpack of the Cinnamon variety set.

Guess I’ll try out the spice house as I would love to compare the different types.

I really liked Penzey's Korintje cinnamon. Guess I should try the Vietnamese. I'm also waiting to need more than one item to place an order. i'm jealous of those of you who live near a store.
