I'm out of my usual Minors Chicken base and I was wondering if I should try something different for a change. After reading about Minors on the old CLBB, I ordered it a few times and liked it. I have no idea how it compares with other brands. I will say the customer service is super nice!
I like the convenience of a base (the MInors is a thick paste). I've never tried Better Than Bouillon. I used to buy cartons or cans of chicken stock but don't like the room it takes in my cabinet, and more importantly, I like to be able to use what I want with a base. I was notorious for wasting leftover broth or freezing it and let is sit in my freezer.
I often don't go thru the Minors before it expires. I really should freeze it, but never have.
Any brands and/or flavors you prefer? The one thing I do know, making my own chicken stock, not happening.
Thanks.

I've used the Better Than Bouillon bases and they're not bad. There's a roasted garlic one that's nice. I haven't tried any others though so I can't compare.

applecrisp-I primarily use Minors as well but just finished my last container. I always freeze mine and they last indefinitely that way plus they are easy to spoon right from the freezer since they don't become a solid rock. Right now I opened a jar of better than bouillon which is my 2nd choice but it is good in a pinch and will do until soupbase has another sale and I re-stock up.

I have better than bouillon in the fridge because it doesn't take up a lot of space, lasts a while and costco sells organic. Otherwise, I use swanson canned. I don't think I've seen Minors out here. I'd love to try stock vs. bone broth but haven't investigated any of that yet.

I buy Better Than Bouillon since it's readily available but I would like to try the Minors.
Applecrisp - I see that Karenw gets hers a Soupbase.com. Is that where you purchase yours as well? I've never seen it in stores around here.

Thx all. mcgee -- I also get it at Soupbase. I should just go ahead and freeze it if I buy it again (and likely will). If I'm in the mood to make soup soon, I might try BTB since I know I can get it locally.
