I'm wondering if anyone has used (and liked!) a successful software scan-type app that has helped them with freezer inventory. If yes, please share. Thank you.

Mastercook has a pantry feature, but I''ve not used it and I can't say if it's useful or not. Never seen any mention in the MC groups I belong to. Sorry. I suppose Excel might be a good way to keep list of freezer food. Anybody else have thoughts or experiences? (PS: We have a freezer in our house fridge, a freezer in our garage fridge and a full freezer in the garage. They are all so stuffed with NOTHING EDIBle that things fall OUT and I'm constantly cussing and muttering as a result. There HAS to be a BETTER WAY! LOL)

we have a house with a freezer and a frig/freezer. also a small vacation house with a frig/ freezer. we use it regularly tho not always in winter. not exactly high tech but when we leave the vacation house, I take pics of the frig/freezer. I put a post-it in the bag with frozen things with date made or bought. this works surprisingly well. it isnt a huge freezer, a bottom drawer one, but two pics do the trick, one of each layer. we are a good distance from stores there so this is very useful. packages are quite recognizable even after several months. when we return I delete the pics and take new ones. I freeze things like coffee beans, bread, and it shows me if there is juice, what vegies etc.
FWIW I take pics of the cabinets and pantry too. I was surprised at how useful it is and pretty darn simple. I take pics of the closets most times when we leave too so I can keep track of where clothing is at.
