Oh, I have bad and good pieces of news. I recently had a nervous breakdown because I didn't let off steam. And the doctors recommended to me to draw pictures. I bought gouache, watercolors, watercolor brushes, canvas, easel and started painting. Now I have such a hobby - every day after work I let off steam on the canvas. Sometimes the paintings are light and bright, and sometimes they are gray or even black, brown, and red. Bad - I had a nervous breakdown Good - I found a new hobby

ChickenCurry, I sure hear you! Years ago, my boss who was marketing manager, had a breakdown. His doctor suggested, I'm sure among other things, that he do NEEDLEPOINT. My boss LOVED it! He was so joyous. He had found something that he loved doing and he did get better. His life greatly improved, he came back to work, and he continued to do his art happily forever! I love that I found an interest in painting back a few decades. I'm still learning--forever. Observation, alone, is SUCH FUN. Everything becomes so much more interesting and COLORFUL!! I'm so glad you found it and it helped you so much. IT'S SO GOOD!! PS: I moved your post to it's own thread here. Perhaps others will share their bad/good stories here, too.

Sorry for all the stress that led you to that point, but being able to acknowledge it and find better ways to cope is something we all need, especially these days. Baking does that for me, but I also like to do crafty things and am getting into sewing again -- moving toward quilting and bag making. I need a creative outlet of some kind -- and also to enjoy the outdoors, even if only watching birds and squirrels from my window. (A bird got in our house today and we can't find him to help him find a way out -- I would recommend avoiding that. LOL) If you are interested in learning more about painting or exploring other creative outlets, you might want to check out craftsy.com/#. They have classes in drawing and painting as well as a number of other areas. I've watched classes in cooking, baking, cookie and cake decorating, knitting, crochet, sewing and quilting. They all fall under the same membership, so you can watch any of them. Right now, new members can get a year for $3 with that link. The reason it is so cheap is that the company is in a transition of ownership. I won't bore you with details unless you want to hear more, but for $3, if you watch one class, it is a good deal. If you get more out of it, even better. One word of caution -- they do auto renew unless you call and tell them cancel. Do it near the end so you get the most benefit. DH just heard the bird in my sewing room -- I am on a mission now! Wish me luck. Update -- got the bird out. Had to move the ironing board, open the window and remove the screen. The bird flew right out.

And I only found 2 small bird poop drips -- both on glass and only one in the sewing room. LOL.

Wow! Thanks a lot. It is an honor for me that my opinion is appreciated. Thanks a lot. I am very glad that many people find themselves. Someone in baking and sewing. Much has changed since May this year. I am still at the same job, but now I work remotely. I moved to another city, started studying at an IT school and even now started shooting videos, because I realized that it would be interesting for me. The video is still not working in the best way, because it is difficult to combine everything. But I'm trying. beth and Catbatty , I wish you every success with your hobby🤗
