This is the second Cuisinart processor I own and just as last time, the bowl and lid have cracks and chips. I contacted them and they said it was out of warranty. Fine. But they only sell the lid replacement and I did not see any bowls. I emailed asking why I need to repurchase the WHOLE thing just to replace the bowl. No reply yet but they want pix of the damage. I'm trying to send it but am not tech savvy, so we'll see how that goes today.
In the event I cannot repurchase a new bowl, I told them I would pretty much give up on their product....which brings me here... can we discuss this topic again? Who loves their processor and what do you own?
(also, if I end up buying a new line, I may have to gift all the blades for this baby. I doubt they would fit any other brand.)

Taking photo with a phone is easy way to get photo to them. It's sounds very positive that they might DO something for you, given that they want a photo. I would never buy another Kitchen Aid again. Made so much cheaper...all the parts. Least, it was. Maybe it's improved. I have had good luck with Cuisinart. Good luck!! Let us know, please!!

I have owned both Cuisinart and Kitchen aid Food processors in the past. Now I have Breville. My DH bought it for me several years ago. He got me their largest one and it is not inexpensive as most Breville products aren't cheap, but I love it!! Much more so than both KA and Cuisinart. It is a real work horse and love the huge capacity. Breville also makes a few smaller models if you don't want the 16 cup.

I've worn out a few cuisinarts over the years. I used to buy about 8 cup size, but then I bought a 3 cup one. I used to use one to knead dough. that was the demise of one big one. I usually cook for two and the big ones don't work well with small amounts. I ended up buying several of the small ones, probably 4 and extra bowls. it came with a chute so occasionally I could use it for big quantities but 99% of the time 3 cups is plenty big. it came with a citrus juicer attachment that I love. Cuisinart doesn't make that unit for years , so I will need to find something else after this one dies. eventually the plastic starts to break after umpty hundred dozen trips thru the DW. the small one at least sold the bowl/lid separately from Cuisinart "parts". it is tougher and more versatile than the "mini chopper" units so I hope to find something to replace it.

I replaced mine as an excuse to hand mine down, but I was able to get a new bowl then. The bowl on the new unit doesn't fit the older model and the new one doesn't have the power or speed of the older one. I borrowed the old one back from my son and am using it. I may look for a different brand when I have a need. The other one I was considering was the Breville. They aren't cheap, but I have their stick blender and toaster and they are solid quality.
