I used to go to Jazzercise and loved it in the 90s but then they changed it up quite a bit and I really didn’t care for a lot of the music they were using. Obviously I can’t go and to a gym or dance studio to workout now but was wondering if anyone has exercise videos they like. I suppose I could buy something but would prefer something free on YouTube, Amazon, or Netflix . thanks.

I've been using Leslie Sansone workouts for a long time. Aerobic with light strength training. If you google Leslie Sansane Walk at Home, you'll get lots of search results. I have a subscription to MyWalkTV. There are free 7 day trials here: digital.walkathome.com/. I did a trial before I subscribed. I did Jazzercize in the 90s. This has fewer dance moves. I also found some of her 30 Minute workouts on Youtube, so you can search there too. I use the YogaStudio iPad app for yoga. I started taking Tai Chi classes in February, my instructor is doing a weekly Zoom class at a reduced rate from her in-person instruction rate. Is your gym doing any online instruction?

Thanks PattiA - i found an old Richard Simmons exercise video from 1996 on YouTube that I tried today and I kinda enjoyed it. It was the first time I’ve gotten in a 50 minute workout in months - I recognized a lot of the moves from Jazzercise. Then I came across someone named Gina B with some free workout videos that look very promising. If anyone is interested, let me know. I included the link but it goes right to the page - almost like an advertisement so I deleted it. I’m not pushing anything . I also took a look at Leslie Sansone and bookmarked one of her videos that I’m excited to try so thanks very much! I don’t belong to a gym anymore so no Zoom workouts for me. If anyone has other suggestions, don’t hesitate to post them. I’m hoping to lose 15 pounds before going back to the office.

I like Cathe Friederich www.cathe.com she has a new series using step coming out but I don't touch step with a 10 foot pole. I also road bike and mountain bike, so have not been seriously hampered by the shutdown. Cathe has 100+ workouts, some in series. Lite and Ice are intermediate level, most of her others are advanced. she is my favorite person to work out with.

I have been going to Zumba classes at my YMCA for 10 years, and I miss my pals. I have been using free Zumba videos on YouTube during the stay-at-home orders. If you like dancing, this may be a good option to check out. If you'd like a few links to view, let me know.

The last gym I went to there were several women who had to get in the first two rows blocking the instructors. And to top it off they thought they were really, really sexy - ugh! But please, please post a few links .

I actually love step but I took a look at Cathe's workouts (not her step though) and they look a little intense for me. Maybe I'll have to go back and look again because I didn't see Lite or Ice so maybe if I find those, it will change my mind.

If you like Yoga, Yoga with Adriene gives lots of options on You Tube... I took a look and it looks promising. Several years ago ny husband and I took a yoga class together and when they had us stand on our heads, my husband said bye, bye so I haven't tried it since. This one looks a little more up my ally and I might give it a try this weekend. Thanks for the heads up.

Here are some links to Zumba videos I am enjoying on YouTube. If the instructor does some high intensity move that I can't do, I just modify it. If they do jumping jacks and I'm not feeling it, I will step through those motions without jumping, for example. If these videos are not your style of music or dance, just look around YouTube. There are tons of Zumba options.
(I have not done this Zumba Gold class, but included it as an example of a lower intensity option).

Cathe has a new series coming called Step Boss. she was doing tutorials because a lot of people like me are intimidated byStep. I am fit, do a lot of things, no step. I like cathes kickboxing workouts. Rev'd up Rumble is not hard, and most of Rock'em sock'em isn't bad. she includes premixes that let you adjust, leave out harder parts of any workout. Cardio Party is a step type workout that is fun to listen to but I cant do the footwork. if you're halfway decent at step you might like it. I wish I could do it but I am Trigger on a bad day.

Whatever happened to that guy in Hawii? And his sister. His sis had her own tv exercise show and I loved it!
Leslie Sansone has always been a favorite. BUT, somehow I became subscribed and began receiving vcr tapes (and the bills for) like crazy. Otherwise, her tapes are the ones I've saved from the 90's and I threw out the rest. Suppose I should try em now...but that means I have to get up. LOL

Jazzercise now has Jazzercise On Demand. My instructor steered us to it when in-person classes were canceled. Free trial I think for 14 days. I like the fact that you can make your own workout by putting together the shorter classes and, since music was your thing, the music is "generic" for the most part because of copyright issues. I think there are 5 instructors and they are also doing some "live" classes every week. And they usually have one instructor doing high impact and one instructor doing low impact for each class.

I thought I’d give an update on this. I’ve been exercising to Gina B since June and I absolutely love it. I’ve lost 14 pounds and I haven’t even changed my diet. I get anywhere from 10k - 14k steps in every day. She has a lot of 5 minute workouts so I can do those when I need to get up and stretch and she has a ton of 15 and 30 minute workouts too. Its a wonderful and supportive community that she calls her tribe. I simply adore her and I think she’s the only thing keeping me sane during these absolutely trying times. www.youtube.com/channel/UC3wm6Rex4kcvOVpqxNHeAqg

So much inspirational stuff here, thank you so much. I love to watch as many videos on this topic as possible and get informed because I understand that this is very important. In general, I deal with yoga and I often look at everything related to this field. The last thing that caught my attention was some yoga coaches from yogapractice.com and it even got me thinking, maybe I'll try it too because on its own it's not so productive and interesting. Does anyone here practice yoga?

Yoga with Adriene. She has videos for all levels, all kinds of situations, and monthly yoga schedules. Weight loss, injury, stress relief, anything and everything. She also has a cute dog named Benji that’s sometimes in her videos. printsbery.com/planner-templates/goal/chart

I started following the Body Project on youtube when the pandemic hit and I have loved their videos ever since. I recommend them, they are for all skill levels and I have lost a few sizes and gotten my endurance and resistance back. Here is the link to their channel: Team Body Project
