I still get EW magazine. often get recipes off their daily emails. most are re prints of magazine recipes. I used to pull pages from the magazine but the directly printed ones were easier to read and file. EW just changed their format. now a simple recipe spreads out over 4 pages with huge spacing between lines. I tried emailing it to myself but it stays the same, all spaced out and I see no way to edit it. a simple recipe takes up a whole page listing 8 ingredients, the picture is a page, the procedure is a page etc. I don't want to go back to hand writing recipes. I like the picture as a reminder. am I missing a way to do this ?
I cook from printed recipes. I don't want a tablet or laptop anywhere near cooking area. I want a hard copy but not strung out over 4 pages. is this possible?

Not sure if this is helpful....can you copy/paste in Openoffice or some such software and edit how you want it to display before you print?

Yikes, Eating Well really made a mess of their formatting.

I do what wallycat mentioned when I want to print a recipe, but also have a small tablet I use by the cooking area that I can keep away from the splattering and mess.

Wallycat, I have Open office but have not tried copying this to it. a project for tomorrow. will report back if it works.
ETA reporting back, it will copy to Office, but I can't change the spacing. maybe there is a way but I don't know it.
I do a lot with a computer/ phone. not cooking. I want recipe on paper in a plastic sleeve. no electronics in the kitchen! I don't cook or store recipes on a computer. not changing. all my recipes are organized in a hanging file. I don't want each recipe to stretch out over 4-5 pages of mostly open space. Previously, until this week, EW recipes printed on one sheet, second page could be skipped. Now with everything way spaced out, it won't work. I can't guess why they did this. I send a complaint to the editor. I' m sure she is fixing this as we speak....
