Is there a noticeable difference between the different types of quinoa? I've seen white and red, not sure if I ever had black.
I think I read it is all basically the same, and just really boils down to preference. I had some red quinoa at a great lunch place and if nothing else it looked really good in their Pinterest ready bowl.
And while posting, was wondering if you can cook quinoa like pasta (in boiled water), rather than cooking down the water like usual?
Thx.

I've never noticed a difference in taste between the different colors, but I usually serve it mixed with other items. And yes, you can cook quinoa in an excess of boiling water and then drain in a mesh strainer.

Cooking rice and grains like you would pasta is my preferred method -- so will absolutely try that the next time I make quinoa. I never tasted any difference --- I typically have quinoa at salad type places, and there is usually so many good things in tho bowl, doubt I could even tell.
