While perusing some comments on a recent Smitten Kitchen thread for a stovetop mac and cheese recipe, I came across this conversation: MICHELLE C. I have been using a very similar recipe (only difference is a higher sauce-to-pasta ratio) for several years – courtesy of a poster named “Canice” on the old Cooking Light BB. Try it with half cheddar, half smoked gouda some time ;-)
FEBRUARY 27, 2018 AT 1:00 PM REPLY DEB You can get it saucier with 100 grams/3.5 ounces of dried pasta instead, which is more the Italian Standard serving size. But of course we sell pasta here in 1 pound/16oz packages so a quarter package makes more sense. (In Italy, or imported brands, it’s 500g/17.6oz packages so, you’d get 5 servings.)
FEBRUARY 27, 2018 AT 1:19 PM REPLY KCAROLAN06 omg, I was just thinking about Canice the other day. It’s crazy how often I think of the old CLBB regulars and wonder what’s happened to them, where they are, how they’re doing.
Can’t wait to try this–especially since the husband is weirdly not really a mac n cheese guy.

Clearly, some of these posters must have been regulars on the old CLBB. It made me kind of nostalgic for those good old days, and the wonderful summaries Canice would provide of trips to various cities.
I saw where Canice responded on Smitten Kitchen so someone from this board must have clued her in when they saw your post. She said she’s on Twitter now.
I do miss the old board and often wonder what a lot of them are up to. I did hear Greysangel (JeAnne) got divorced and Joe moved back to Arizona but haven’t heard about any of the others. Wish they’d check in here and let us know.
I posted over there!! I was soooo worried about being rude to the group...so I didn't provide a link to us. But I gave the name of our group here. I WOULD CONTACT CANICE...but I have no idea how to Twit, Tweet...whatever. hahaha doh doh It's it cute how she heard that her name had come up and she went there and posted. What a great world we hang out in!! (And isn't it odd that Deb's website is where it happened? Who in our world hasn't, at one time or another, raved about her recipes or cookbooks???) I find this such a wonderful thing. Magical. I'm so happy. I hope we hear from our old friends again (those of us who 'lived' --on and off--at the old Cooking Light bulletin board.) (Boards?) OH GOSH I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!
Goblue: I've been meaning to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for going to all the work of telling us about this! I think so many of us really appreciate you doing this. EXCITING to hear of a great find of old friends online!
You're welcome! It was pretty serendipitous that I happened upon that portion of the thread. And I saw that Canice posted on it recently as well! Thanks for hopping on also and mentioning the new CLBB.
So far, I've not seen any response. Anyone know how to TWEET? I wonder if any of them saw my mention of our group here. Dang. I was SOOOO excited thinking something would happen soon. haha Silly me. doh.
