I have a friend who does a raw diet for her pets. Her older dog has a number of dietary issues and I think one of her cats does also. She does a lot of prep, including grinding meat and possibly some light cooking of some things. That's more than I think I could take on, but I am sure when there is a need, you adapt.
I bake treats for my dogs -- took a pumpkin, peanut butter treat recipe that may have been shared on the CL board and adapted it to include oatmeal. With cinnamon, whole wheat and eggs, they are like all her favorite things in a treat -- we call them puppy crack. I noticed King Arthur has a treat mix, so I included one in my last order. I had a $10 coupon and needed just a little more for free shipping. I haven't made them yet, but if the pups like them, I will have to try to create a scratch recipe. Don't think I can afford a KA mix habit for these two.
Anyone else baking puppy treats? Recipes to share?
