Nobody? Well, around here everything went into a spin because husband got heart tested. (Later found it's not as bad as we thought.) But he is eating even more carefully. Thus, BEANS without bacon or pork--or their fat. Did I previously mention this? I might have. But the discovery has rather blown us both away. His beans now are just as awesome as always...which is shocking to us...but made with only some olive oil, garlic, onions, perhaps a small pinch of Mexican oregano. We are DELIGHTED. We adore pinto beans!!! We can't even tell their is no bacon in our beans. SHOCKARUNY!! I always thought pinto beans would be nothing without bacon or bacon grease. So, there's that. My contribution for September (better hope i don't mention it again for October). LOL Since our mainstay CHEFS seem to be on vacation lately, guess I'll have to get in the kitchen with some mags or books and make something new to me! Me cook? I must love you all a lot! PS: edited to add - forgot to mention that he sautes those additions IN the olive oil first, then adds them to the beans. We like lots of water, too. (I love the broth.)

Catbatty, glad to hear your DH is OK. I adore beans. Any bean, any way, any time. I've had refried beans with cheese for breakfast, I've used refried beans to fill sandwiches, I adore tomato and beans....dal, soups, etc....
I usually post something I have made that was great...I need to start writing stuff down. OY.
I made a ham/cheese socca "pizza" the other night and used mayo as the "sauce"...heaven.
Oh, my winner was pork Filipino adobo. I even ordered the cane vinegar. TO DIE.

My list includes September and August. Between traveling and a kitchen remodel, there wasn't much real cooking for a few months. These are some of the things I made: Saladu Nebbe (Black-Eyed Pea Salad With Tomatoes and Cucumbers) NYTimes gift link: cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1025747-saladu-nebbe-black-eyed-pea-salad-with-tomatoes-and-cucumbers?unlocked_article_code=1.T04.EKC_.5ajHxzCHpc7K&smid=share-url This is super easy and delicious. Muffaletta Pasta Salad rhubarbandcod.com/muffuletta-pasta-salad/?utm_campaign=muffuletta-pasta-salad#wprm-recipe-container-78343 This is described as a side dish, but it is hearty enough to stand alone as a main course. non-alcoholic Margarita pinchofyum.com/a-really-good-non-alcoholic-margarita I wouldn't call this a non-alcoholic Margarita, but it is a refreshing non-alcoholic drink to serve with Mexican food. Balsamic Soy Roasted Mushrooms www.closetcooking.com/balsamic-soy-roasted-garlic-mushrooms/ Whenever I make these, we devour them. Peach Shortbread smittenkitchen.com/2010/09/peach-shortbread/ I wanted to make these when local peaches were available, but I had no oven for July, August, and part of September. I took all the ingredients with me when I visited my mom and baked them there. I didn't brown the butter. We all liked them, but everyone wished the peach layer used more peaches. I will make these again, but I will double the peaches and cut them at least 1/4" thick, not 1/8" thick. Gingery Grilled Chicken Thighs with Grilled Peaches NYTimes gift link cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1021197-gingery-grilled-chicken-thighs-with-charred-peaches?unlocked_article_code=1.T04.09G7.4tU6Om-W9E82&smid=share-url I love grilled or roasted or sauteed peaches... Farro Salad with Grilled Chicken www.eatingwell.com/recipe/280144/farro-salad-with-grilled-chicken/ I used chicken thighs. And cooked farro that I had frozen before the kitchen remodel started. Thai-inspired Corn Salad www.thekitchn.com/thai-inspired-corn-salad-recipe-23669271 Served this with grilled shrimp.

Patti, I adore 'shrooms. THANK YOU for posting that. I'll be making these...maybe even trying them with a blend of 'shrooms. I bet these would work very well in the air fryer.
