Hi everyone
I have a question for you, long story short, I was given a Breville BPR 700 Fast Slow Pro Pressure Cooker (never used, I think I have all the parts, I do have the plug : ), no manual. And a Fagor brand "Lux LCD Multi Cooker" that looks like it was barely used, no manual. (could get manuals on line).
I KNOW ZIP NADA, NOTHING about InstaPots, Pressure Cookers etc. I could barely get the lid off one of them. I never really paid much attention to Instapots (and similar ones) --- so I don't know if "how I eat" is suited to it. I don't know what it is "known" for being good at.
I have no clue on any "impt" differences with the two machines, the Brevllle seems to have a ceramic coated inside pot and I think a removable lid. And the Fagor one is has stainless inside pot and I don't think the lid is removable. At this point, other than that, the other difference is the Fagor is white. Ha. Clearlly I haven''t looked into them yet. I'm assuming the two above are similar to some degree to the InstaPot>
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I'm not sure I should keep, and if I do keep, which one? (I tend to want to keep the new one, but I don't know how they compare). I have NO cabinet space for this (my cabinets wouldn't fit one regardless) so it would have to be out on my little metal "bookshelf" that holds a few cookbooks etc. in my kitchen. If I had the storage space, I would probably just keep one, and see if I liked it. I know I can try one out, and I know many say there is a learning curve. i don't like kitchen clutter but if I thought it was the best thing since coffee chip ice cream, I could deal.
I know I can make beans -- but I've been saying I should cook beans for years.
Sooooo, do you actually use it? What brand? Favorite things to make? How often do you use it? Would you buy again, or is just ok for your needs? Do you have and/or Know anything about the two I mentioned above?
I typically cook for one or two. And don't eat much red meat at all, and maybe a few times a month chicken. And the machines seem really big --- 6 qt or more? Not sure what a good size would be.
Thanks so much.
