Although I do have a flop, so happy to have an excellent recipe this month. My Vietnamese dinner went well, too. That dipping sauce was really good! And my friend who professes to not like cooked carrots happily ate the glazed carrots twice!
Excellent
9/2 Layered Greek Dip (CC? ATK?) Party in your mouth! Would try half hummus amount next time as people just scraped off the toppings! Seasoned yogurt with s&p.
Make Again
9/30 Spicy Hoisin-Garlic Sauce (Into the Vietnamese Kitchen) Really tasty! Used PB, not liver.
9/26 No-Churn Coffee Ice Cream (Nigelissima) Good texture for no-churn and easy. Chill all ingredients? Took long time to whip. Small amount!
9/16 One-Pan Ratatouille with Chicken (CC Aug/Sep 17) Reminded me a lot of CC’s Quick Ratatouille from last year. Used dried thyme. Had more zucchini and less eggplant. Easy and delicious.
9/9 Summer Bolognese (Saveur 7/15) Not sure why this was so good, but it was very tasty. Used red wine and dried thyme. Maybe the DeCecco?
9/3 Glazed Carrots (New Best Recipe) Very simple, easy, and good.
9/1 Hummus (Molly on the Range) Very, very smooth and thick, but not heavy. Must be making your own chickpeas. Would like to try her additions, but I used in Greek Layer Dip.
Good
9/30 Basic Dipping Sauce (Into the Vietnamese Kitchen) Just what the name implies!
9/30 Phở đuôi bò/Vietnamese Noodle Soup with Oxtail (seriouseats.com) Good, smelled wonderful. Light tasting.
9/25 Asian-Style Chicken Wings with Hoisin and Lime (Whole Foods) Good on chicken legs—try with wings.
9/24 Vietnamese Coffee Cake (Milk Street) Very light cake—all parts tasty, but wanted more. Three or four times the whipped cream, extra sauce. Doubled cream and 1.5 sauce = good.
9/18 Spaghetti Alla Chitarra with Lamb and Sweet Pepper Ragu (Saveur 4/15) Good, but paled in comparison to the Summer Bolognese. Hard to tell when the sauce was done. Used only 12ozs pasta and it was probably a tad too much. Peppers were wonderful.
9/10 Salted Peanut Butter-Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies (CC Dec16/Jan17) Decent cookie, but too much going on. Did use up some pretzels!
9/10 Scallopped Squash, Red Pepper, and Corn Gratin with Cheddar Crust (BA 11/05) Tasty, but I would want to try again: squash should be cut thinner, used basil, served at a potluck and it disappeared!
OK
9/26 Sand Tarts (MS’s Cookies) These were fine, but nothing more than a sugar cookie with cinnamon-sugar. Eh.
Cook’s Error
9/15 Hot Pepper Noodles (BA 3/13) I had to do something wrong, but I also should know that you cannot just add a beaten egg to a stir-fry/noodles. And 10oz noodles? Too much.

Looks like you had a great month, Erin! I am going off the top of my head here since I don't keep track. I am sure some things will get missed but here is what I can recall: Excellent:-Eggplant Bulgar "Moussaka" Casserole-Martha Schulman -Ciambotta-Cook's Ill. -Roasted Vegetable Lasagna-? source (used eggplant, summer squash, zucchini, red onion, red bell pepper, and spinach) -Greek Salmon Burgers with Lemon Tahini Sauce -Barbequed Jackfruit Burritos -Homemade Onion Bialys -Semolina Cheddar Cheese Loaf with Sundried Tomatoes and Garlic-KAF -Hearty Minestrone-Cook's Illustrated -Eggplant Parmesan-C.I. Very Good:-Vegetable Soup with Escarole and Chicken Parmesan "Dumplings"-Serious eats (a combo. of 2 recipes) -Creamy Cauliflower Potato Soup-M. D'Arabian-a lighter tasting baked potato soup -Apple Cider Bundt Cake-Cook's Illustrated -Oatmeal Banana Muffins -Lemon squares-cook's Ill. Good-Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Muffins -Peanut Butter and jelly Muffin-batter was too liquidy so some of them leaked jelly but still tasty. Next time use less milk -Chocolate Banana Bites -Breakfast Bites-"energy ball" with almond meal, oat flour, peanut flour, almond butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, mini chips etc. -"Apple Pie" Cinnamon roll dessert-made to use up stuff that I bought for a cooking project with kids at school. Not fancy in the least but it worked! -Irish Cream Cheesecake Brownies Can't think of any more! Karen

Thought of 2 more good ones that I made this past month:
-EW's White Bean Kale Pot Pie-added a bit of cheese to biscuit topping and some leftover soup chicken to filling. Next time would bake the biscuits separately and top the pie after baking so that the bottom of the biscuits do not get soggy/underbaked. Otherwise very good.
-Skinnytastes Spiralized Sweet potato Enchilada Bake-added some shredded leftover soup chicken to dish. Very good but bake longer next time. Some of the potatoes were a bit too al dente.

Great food coming out of your kitchens! Thanks for posting everyone and thanks for starting the thread erin! I will certainly be getting some great ideas, as usual. I will say those words "brown butter, oatmeal, chocolate chip cookies" somehow caught my eye that SallyT posted. I didn't track once again so here are a few.... Very good - Nacho Taters/budgetbytes -- easy, super flexible, very good, nothing fancy, I might leave out the corn next time and put in some red peppers/onions. www.budgetbytes.com/2015/02/nacho-taters/- Burrito Bowls Good - Baked Apple Oatmeal Cups/clean and delicious YT -- It has apples, oats, applesauce, egg, milk etc.... No sugar (unless you want to add a bit to sweeten), no oil/butter, no flour. And it uses up some of that big jar or oats. It did stick a bit to the muffin tin. I might use some parchment liners next time and add some vanilla. I did make the topping that had walnuts, a bit of sugar and cinnamon. Just something different for breakfast (and did I mention uses up those oats). I froze some too. - Roasted Buddha Bowl with Hummus Dressing (mindovermunch YT) --- I changed up so much that can't give a review of the actual recipe. mindovermunch.com/recipe/roasted-buddha-bowl-with-hummus-dressing/T&T - Broccoli Melts/SK ---- I could eat the broccoli mixture as is, before it even gets to the bread. smittenkitchen.com/2016/02/broccoli-melts/- Mediterranean Farro Salad with Spiced Chickpeas (budgetbytes) www.budgetbytes.com/2016/02/mediterranean-farro-salad-with-spiced-chickpeas/- Black Bean Burgers (CLBB)
