I bought a package of Spinach & Feta Chicken Sausage, and would love any suggestions on what to do with them.
First off, what kind of music was that store piping into the place, to get me to buy sausage. It did at least have the words Spinach & Feta -- and I do love those ingredients. And, I did read a good review somewhere too.
But I've never had sausage before other than trying a sample or two .... you know when a place is sampling them or maybe at a party. Normally I don't care for it at ll but perhaps its the flavors/types..... I think maybe its the fennel and the .......
Any suggestions would be great. I'll have a back up dinner of cheese and crackers, hummus.....
Thanks.

I would either treat them like kielbasa and put them into something...sliced up and in a sauce over what ever you eat (pasta, beans, spinach, etc...) or you can grill them and eat them like Bratwurst or hot dogs. If these are from Trader Joe's, I've had them and like them. I just grill them and make sides for them.

Breakfast sandwich: English muffin (or a seeded roll), egg (scrambled or sunny side up or over easy as you prefer), plus the sausage and maybe a bit of roasted red pepper or tomato jam.

I usually crumble sausage and use in a wrap, stuffed peppers, bolognese-type sauce, on a pizza, etc. Years ago I used to make Joe's Special and would sub sausage for the beef. Here's one recipe for that old San Francisco favorite: www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/joes-special-105866I actually have some veggie sausage in the fridge and just might make that dish for dinner tomorrow so thanks for reminding me about it .

Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to giving them a try, I'm not sure yet what I'll do with them. It is certainly something different for me. And if I like them, I now have a bunch of dinner ideas thanks to you all.

I serve chicken sausages as sides with various pasta dishes. Love Aidell's Spicy Mango with Jalapeno chicken and Apple Chicken. Trader Joe's Spicy Italian Chicken is good too. I bake them in the toaster oven at 375 for about 10 minutes.

I lightly brown in a skillet and serve over pasta with pesto or a tomato-based sauce. One of our favorite sausages.

We love these! I just wrap in a Joseph's pita with a slice of melted cheese...sometimes I'll make grilled onions...I'm on WW so it's a low point dinner

I'm not really a fan of these kinds of sausages eaten on their own- the texture is wonky to me. But sliced up they make the best addition to lentil soups of all shapes and sizes. They hold up to lengthy cooking and the flavor doesn't leech out either.

A couple of weeks ago I made the Joe's Special from Epicurious that I linked to above using Tofurky's veggie Italian "sausage" and we loved it. DH, who usually doesn't like stuff like that, even commented on how tasty it was. It made a great quick and easy dinner. I highly recommend it with any type of sausage or the ground beef that is called for in the original recipe.

We have used them sliced or crumbled in pasta dishes or such, but we also grill or cocok them ans serve them on a roll with grilled red bell pepper and onions. Pretty simple and yummy.
