Not the same, but those remind me of King Arthur's Dessert Doughnuts (saved for some day! Although there is a great doughnut place and I can imagine their cinnamon sugar doughnuts with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream and hot apple topping--yum!). I recall someone saying you need to have photos saved on a photo-sharing site (like Flickr) to share here.

Right. We would have to pay money for storage otherwise and well....we are a thrifty bunch.

Right. We would have to pay money for storage otherwise and well....we are a thrifty bunch. catbatty -- I'm able to post some pics here, but not others. Sometimes it is as simple as right clicking on the photo and copying the image address (like from budgetbytes.com etc - should I not be doing that? -- she's ok with people using pics, just post link to actual recipe/post). I have no idea why some photos don't have that info (or at least not that i see, ha). After all the years on the old CLBB, I don't think I've ever tried posting a pic even from my computer. Or on this site. catbatty, just so I'll learn, what kind of pics then can you/can't you post (not sure what storage is referring to??). Clearly above me. Thx. erin - " cinnamon sugar doughnuts with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream and hot apple topping--yum!)" --- I agree completely. I think I'd go for cream puffs/ice cream and maybe some fudge sauce. I'll go old -school. But I wouldn't turn it down. And erin's idea does sound good!

Applecrisp,
The picture has to be stored somewhere else and have a web address in order for it to show up here at Great Food Forum because we don't buy bandwidth to store it, say at ProForums...wherever they store stuff. Takes up space that costs money.
Blog owners either pay for or get free online storage for their uploaded photos, pdf's, whatever -- for the stuff they post to their webpages. (Somewhere, the stuff is taking up space.)
(Edited to say: Sorry, you may already realize this stuff and I may not be addressing what you really wanted answered...probably because, if I really understood the question, I'd not know the answer. LOL)
When you copy and paste from a blog's webpage address, the photo may show up nicely at GFF because: it's not stored here. It is stored somewhere else.
We who don't have blogs, but want to post photos of our own, must go find our own space...either free or paid. Bev (in Technical section here...or Tips) mentioned that she likes a FREE program called "Imgur". I signed up and tried it. Works!
I'm guessing that the free storage spots on the web get paid for using their space up somehow...advertisers probably pay the costs.
That help?
