I just learned that Picasa 3 will no longer be supported and google + photos or some such thing is replacing it. "They" claim they won't delete it, but after the CL experience, I'm a tad freaked out. What do you use/suggest for photo storage??

I have my own photo storage on my website (as well as the icloud), but I also use the free version of Photobucket.
For this forum's purposes, the admins might want to look into the plugin "Post Image" so that people can easily add photos to their posts without using up the limited storage space of a free forum.

I searched for that plugin and couldn't find it... not sure that we need it. The editor easily allows the insertion of a link to an image. What is the advantage of a plugin?

I searched for that plugin and couldn't find it... not sure that we need it. The editor easily allows the insertion of a link to an image. What is the advantage of a plugin? We use the plugin on some garden forums I moderate and am a part of. It really helps those who don't have online photo storage because you can upload a photo right from the computer. It also automatically resizes it to work best with the forum as well. I apologize, it's called Simple Image Upload. One of the features of it is that it hosts the pictures offsite. Proboards only allows so much storage space before they tell you to pay for upgraded versions of the forum-pictures suck up a lot of space rather quickly. Simple Image makes it so you can share pictures without allocating any storage space to those pictures. It's not totally foolproof, but it's something to at least consider. And maybe you don't want it right away, just something to keep in mind if you start having storage issues or people having trouble posting photos. It's very user friendly.

MrsWaz,
I am looking into this plugin you mentioned. It sets up for ProBoard, I see. I have downloaded it and unzipped it, so far. I suppose I need next to figure out how to load it into ProBoards. Must be someplace that I press and point to that plugin. That might be very helpful for us. IF this fails, I will just instruct folks to find a place online to store their photos and then point to that spot from their post. Thanks so much for mentioning this to us long ago. (As u can tell, I stumble my way thru the technical stuff...and then Bev, if she's in USA...and not traveling as is her want this last year or two...will come along and fix the things I've done...or bail me out somehow.) LOL Thanks again, Brenda

Oh, I'm glad you figured it out Catbatty! Most of the photo storage sites are moving to paid-only storage, so this will be a nice asset to have here. Especially on a cooking forum where we eat with our eyes first! To celebrate, here's a picture of the very few superhot peppers I grew this year. I'm not even totally sure what they all are here, but I'm pretty sure there's a Brain Strain and a Chocolate Bahamian Beast in the mix. I put them in the freezer to make hot sauce with another day.
