I'm reporting what appears to be a pleasant experience with Geek Squad. They came right out...a few days later...after our report of 4 year old refrigerator's fan staying loudly on. (Covered by our purchase of extended warranty, which we never do.) Dunno if mfg would have covered this or not on their 5 year warranty...but anyway, I stayed in bed and husband reports that they did some stuff (it should quiet down soon), plus they ordered two parts (one unrelated to the fan...instead about the electronic readout thing on the front...temp thing...the "3" missing it's middle horizontal arm (I hadn't noticed). And, they will be back on the 12th to install the parts. And what I love about all this, besides that they handled this nicely handling, is that **I was correct!** I am so proud to have shown my husband how asTUTE I am about repairing things! I'd guessed the cause!!! (Ice/frost near fan deep inside walls of fridge somewhere, caused fan to hit, hit, hit, hit...) So, once again, the little woman of the house diagnosed a very technical electrical problem correctly!!!! (My husband usually, very subtly, ignores my 'fix-it' instincts...this will teach him I know something about these things!!)
Edited to add: tube that should have drained off excess defrost water somewhere had become plugged so water backed up and froze, then fan kept hitting it.
