Subject line pretty much says it all. I have a small plate and have it on the window sill....which is now peeling from getting constantly wet. I'm trying to coral all my stuff as I already have too much on the counter. Just curious if I've missed an obvious/easy/CHEAP(!!) solution.

I also have a suction cup thing in my sink that I picked up at Homegoods. I don't use a sponge in the kitchen, and instead use those Handy Wipe cloths, so I can either hang it over the faucet or on that holder.

Have the same thing as shown in the link above....a suction cup little basket that holds my sponge inside the sink. I have a double sink so I keep the sponge holder on the side that I don't use for rinsing/cleaning dishes and prepping stuff etc...

I keep it in the dishwasher. Years ago I used to keep the dish drainer on top of the counter Since I like the counter tops clear, I got a small dish drainer that fit inside the sink. I would store the sponge In the utensil compartment in the sink. Now I've moved the dish drainer into the dishwasher So the counters and sink are completely cleared Yahoo. Hope that makes sense.

My sink is not an undermount sink so it has the stainless steel lip around it. We keep the sponge and a nail brush in a small corningware Sidekick dish that fits on the stainless edge of the sink. The Sidekick dish has a rim so the wetness is contained.

I have a "thing" which is white and looks like a partridge or quail (whatever bird that is with a hat.) I suppose it was supposed to house a plant, though it has no drainage hole. But eventually, it became a home for the various sponges and scrubbies I use in the kitchen, after squeezing them out.

Gail, I have something similar. My container is clear so I know where items are hiding. It's sitting on the counter next to my over-mount sink. Got the idea from my favorite SIL.

But if you are looking for the high quality cleaning not only your kitchen dishes, but the kitchen or flat overall, may be it is better to ask professionals like www.emop.co.uk/ ? Especially if the great cooking made a lot of mess not in the kitchen, but in the whole flat. Or after the great party.

I checked the Amazon reviews on this item. Many said that the item rusts quickly because it is chrome, not stainless steel (Amazon used both descriptions). Have you had this problem?
