I am looking for a birthday gift to give and I was thinking of getting one of those gift subscription boxes. There seems to be so many choose from and they seem more popular than ever -- whether its food products like nuts, cheese, fruit, more home themed and on and on. I think they would like receiving a fun surprise to open.
I'm not going to go for a full mega yearly box that costs big bucks, maybe a 1-3 month sub.
Oh, but what to sub to?
I haven't given much thought on the theme/company yet -- but she likes food, eats mostly veg, likes home decor/jewelry type things. Off the top of my head, I will look into graze (" snacks that show off the tasty side of health and are delivered directly to you") -- I've never tried this company but I have seen their them advertisements. And will look into popsugar boxes too, this is more of a combo of home decor/makeup/food/jewelry. I know have a list of companies that looked interested -- just need to look on my computer.
Any suggestions would be great. Lots of companies are offer holiday promos, so will look into that too.
Thx!.

We have not sent one, but tried a Harry & David one year for our family because the boys enjoyed the pears we got so much. We decided we liked the pears the best. I did order a set of meals cooked by a local chef who delivered -- all my parents had to do was pick their dates from a menu. I think I gave them six deliveries that would have been at least 2-3 meals each -- they may have gotten one or two deliveries. My dad didn't enjoy it.
Along the snacking line -- Meduri World Delights has dried fruits. But you are right -- there are a lot of them out there I just tried to search for monthly snack subscriptions and came up with a lot -- mostly things I'd never heard of. Was hoping to jog my memory and felt lost instead. Sorry I can't help you more.

Beth, You did help, you gave me some more ideas to think about. Many thanks. Subscription boxes (or whatever one wants to call it) seems so popular that there are tons of ideas. Oooh, maybe I'll find a good box to get for myself -- you know just for research. I bet she would like something like Blue Apron too or ...... I'll post back if I try one and really like it. Thanks!

I have no experience with any, except I used to subsribe to a wine club years ago. I've seen some interesting food clubs on Shark Tank. The one I bookmarked, but never really looked into was www.Plated.com I don't know if you can order temporarily, or what, but I remember thinking it was interesting. I just looked and you can gift how ever many meals, weeks, etc you want. You can let the recipient choose the food they want by the looks of it. Would something like that be of interest?

I think she would like one of those "all the ingredients in the box/recipe". There are so many companies offering them nowadays. I just read about a company that basically will send you all the ingredients to make smoothies (albeit more involved than just strawberries and bananas). I think it is just a cup of frozen ingredients in a cup. Don't need to even peel a banana. II wouldn't buy that as the gift, just interesting to see the different businesses out there. Beth -- I was in Trader Joes' today and they were selling Harry and David pears. I don't think I've seen that before.

I have several friends who have gotten into Blue Apron. The meals they've shared on FB have been varied and look just like the recipe says they should. One friend in particular can't believe all the vegetables her family has gotten to try because of Blue Apron. I think they get two meals a week and in the months they've been doing it, there was only one meal that they didn't care for.

mrswaz -- Thanks for the info. Blue Apron is on my short list of ideas -- I think she would like it, and good to know that your friends have enjoyed it. I have heard and read good things about them, although much of it was online (and lots of those people were given a subscription for review). I am going to take a look at the website later for more info.
Thanks again.
