I have a few things I want to purchase from them but the shipping is close to $12. Not a huge deal but I was wondering if they ever run promotions for free shipping. I see that they offer free shipping on select items but not the entire order. Since it's close to the holidays I thought maybe if I wait a week or two they'll run a promo. Does anyone know if they ever do that or should I just suck it up and pay the $12. Thanks.

I order from KA maybe 2x a year. shipping is pretty high so I consolidate orders into fewer of them. I have never noticed a break on shipping . they used to let you add items that could be included at no extra shipping cost but that is all I remember. I will be watching here to see if anyone else has come across a deal. I order chocolate , cocoa, and vanilla bean paste from them. used to order more in the past but shipping has gotten pretty high. it seems to go by the dollar amount and not by weight.

They do have specials from time to time. I always order parchment paper sheets when they have the specials. Sometimes they are product specific and sometime they are for the entire order. It's hit and miss. With Tgiving around the corner, unless you need something now, there will most likely be some sort of sale coming up. I don't need anything from them, so I have been deleting emails w/o reading them, so I'm not familiar with current promotions.

mcgee -- If you haven't already, I'd suggest giving their customer service a call. I've had luck a few times calling different online stores asking if they know of any upcoming sales (or I called because I had a question on a certain item) and sometimes the rep has a courtesy code or some other perk to offer to perhaps close the deal. I think, work a try.
I think they have some kind of KAF reward club (but you have to pay to join). I don't know anything about it and/or the perks but likely only worth it for those that spend $$$. I'v only ordered one or two things from them, and I think it was after getting a promo email.
caffelatte -- Thx for mentioning the parchment. I should buy a box (from there or another place) -- I'd certainly have less waste/save time than me using the roll. I'll have to check to see if anyone sells for quarter sheet, i'm guessing just half sheet.

I looked in my trash email folder and there was a parchment free shipping deal ended on the 12th. i bought some last year, so I am good for at least another year. As applecrisp mentioned, calling can get you discounts.

I've received e-mails from them from time to time with free shipping offers, but you usually need to spend $50 or so, which doesn't work well for me. I haven't seen any offers lately, but I agree that they may offer something around the holidays. If I see anything soon, I'll post it here.

Thanks everyone. I'll try giving them a call - never thought of doing that. In the meantime, if anyone comes across a promo, let me know. Thanks.

Be sure to get on their email list. I just checked my email; there's a current KAF free-ship offer on Zojirushi bread machines, but they just recently ran free ship on a $45 order, I think. I don't know anything about a club you have to pay to join; I just get frequent emails from them but haven't paid to get any special deals. How you handle their free-ship offers vs. sales will kind of depend on what you're interested in, of course--for ex, they recently had 20% off all mixes; I don't know if there was a free-ship level but if you're a big mix buyer, that promo may have been a better deal for you than free ship plus full-priced items.

I order from them on a rare occasion (maybe 2x/year) and try to stock up on things then because of there shipping costs. I try to get things there that you can't find anywhere else otherwise it is not worth it. Their high gluten flour is one item in particular that I have never found anywhere else and I use it for my bagels and bialys, so I always order several bags at a time. Anyway, I digress. I am on their mailing list so periodically, I get asked to complete a survey and in return get a discount off a future order. Usually it is something like $10.00 off an order of $50.00 or more. I try to make my order as close to the minimum required as I can and still get what I need. That way my discount becomes "free shipping" sort of??!! At least that is how my brain rationalizes it!!

KAF now has 20% off any $80+ order thru 11/20. Yes, you'd have to pay shipping.

Every once in a while they run a free shipping when you spend a certain amount. The IL's have sent me KAF gift cards the past few Christmases, and while I appreciate them, I don't get to use them for a long time because I'm waiting for a free shipping offer. I think the last time I ordered it was free shipping when you spent $30, but the more normal one I've seen is spending $50.

The free shipping on parchment comes at least 2-3 times a year, possibly 4? At other times they have free shipping with a minimum purchase, usually $60-70. I found that I was ordering things I didn't need yet to fill out the amount needed for free shipping or buying something to try that I might or ight no use. Because of that, I decided to try the Baker's Rewards. You pay $49 per year and get free shipping with any $25 order (for yourself or a gift). They give you a $10 reward when you sign up and another one with each order of $60 or more. My grocery stores aren't carrying all the flours I used to be able to get, so with free shipping and a $10 reward, I can order the flours and still come out about the same as I paid in the grocery store (Amazon pantry is another way to get some of the flours with cheaper shipping, but I doubt you can get all the other items). I think you also get a $10 reward when you reach a certain amount in total purchases. The birthday gift will likely be something like a bowl scraper, cookie cutter or such -- not a reason to join, but a fun surprise.
If you order only once or twice a year, then it might not be worth joining, but I like that I can buy a smaller amount when I need to and still get free shipping. I can send my sons just a couple of items and ship it to them free (they use the parchment and cocoa if nothing else). I sent my sister some mixes when she moved into her new house -- small order, free shipping. I went back and looked -- in 2015, the Baker's Rewards more than paid for itself. In 2016, I think I had 4 $10 rewards, but I also had 6 orders ship free (or about $1.50 each net of the rewards), including two gifts. And I've had one of those surveys -- I'm doing okay. Worst case, it caps my shipping cost at a reasonable amount as long as I place 3-4 orders. If I order more, I may come out ahead, but either way, I can order when I want to rather than try to time my orders to a promo (or order just a few days before one -- that has happened). It might be worth considering.....

Beth, thanks for the analysis of the Baker's Rewards. I'll look into it further once I use up my current crop of KAF mixes. I don't order from them too often; I think I've usually saved up my WL enough to hit a free-ship promo, maybe?

Just wanted to mention that KAF is currently offering free shipping for orders over $65. They are also giving sliding discounts if the total order is over $100.

I'm not seeing anywhere on the e-mail where there might be a code to share. I went through and filled a cart and did most of the checkout, but still no code that I could copy and share.

Sorry. I didn't find a code. I haven't tried to use it and if I were to sign in, I get free shipping at $25 anyway because of Baker's Rewards. But you could sign up for their emails and/or call and ask. They aren't obnoxious about them. Wish I could give you mine.
