So I bought one thinking I would like a recipe that spiralized sweet potatoes. I really didn't like it. Ugh. I know lots of people do zucchini this way, but zucchini season is done for the year. I like most vegies and wonder.... what else you've used one for? Are there any other vegies that work well spiralized? the small zucchini stores sell seem like slicing/dicing them would be better. Any ideas?

I have done sweet potato but can't remember what I did with it...I have used it for zucchini and yellow squash, apples, but you can get some ideas from inspiralized.com/spiralizer-recipes/

I saw a recipe on Pinterest for Greek salad that had the cucumber spiralized.
I have been really tempted to get one of these, but I am questioning just how much I would actually use it. Will have to check out that link!

I really thought I'd use it a lot but I ended up with so many odd shaped pieces I had to "knife chop" them anyway, and then clean the spiralizer besides. sometimes the first experience is the most important, and mine didn't go well. thanks Pam, I will look at that. mind has disks I can do other than spiralize but actually a good knife is simpler. maybe if I were doing a bigger quantity it would be useful. I expected to use it for zucchini but ended up shredding them instead. I do a fair amount of shredded zucchini and like the results. I personally can't sub zucchini for pasta and tell myself it's OK. does not work as a "sub" for me that way. shredded zucchini works for me in a lot of recipes so I thought spiralized might be the same situation, but so far, no.
