I have not made. I have, however, purchased (I think this is something they sell now at all their stores). They sell it with or without roasted chicken on top. I sometimes buy it just for a base to doctor up, then at home add things to it like red bell pepper, etc. Make at your own risk because I can't say for sure if this recipe works or if it is same as I've tasted. I will make soon and find out.

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 pound Chinese egg noodles
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
2 tablespoons hot chili garlic sauce -- (see note)
1 tablespoon ginger juice -- (see note)
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
4 green onions -- finely sliced
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds -- (see note)
Cook noodles according to package directions just until tender. Drain and cool. Whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, hot chili garlic sauce, ginger juice and sugar. Combine noodles, dressing and green onions and toss well. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds. Makes about 9 cups.
Note: Hot chili garlic sauce is available in Asian markets and the Asian section of many grocery stores. This amount of sauce makes a moderately hot dish. Use less if less heat is desired.
Note: Ginger juice can be made by grating fresh ginger and pressing the grated ginger to release the juice. A garlic press works well.
Note: To toast sesame seeds, place in a dry skillet over medium heat. Toast until seeds turn light brown, shaking the pan to keep the seeds from scorching.

Q: I love the sesame noodles at the New Seasons deli in Sellwood. I have tried to make several recipes and they always turn out too strongly flavored with either peanut or sesame, or both. These have a subtle sesame taste with a little kick from hot pepper. If they won't share, maybe you have a similar recipe. -- Kate White, Portland
A: No need to look for a similar recipe when we can give you the real thing. New Seasons Sellwood chef Mark Macuk developed this recipe and says it's the ginger juice that makes these sesame noodles special. Feel free to adjust the heat by using more or less of the hot chili garlic sauce. New Seasons has four stores in the Portland area.
