Hi All, I'm starting a thread that was active in the old CLBB, but expanding it to things beyond running or biking. Let's report on fitness-related activities we're doing to help keep each other motivated!
The weather has been gorgeous in my neck of the woods this week, perfect for outdoor activities. I've gone running twice, played tennis twice, and went on a 15-mile bike ride. Monday is a holiday in the Northeast and DH will be off from work, so hopefully we will be able to play tennis and/or go hiking.
What is everyone else up to?

Hi everyone! And thanks for moving this, goblue82 I thought i had posted it under fitness but nope! Great to see your, Vicci's, and Ana's posts on the other thread. you have been getting in some great activities! Goblue, siunds like a great variety of stuff for you! Haven't played tennis in so long but have always enjoyed it (despite a total lack of skill... Lol). We have also been benefitting from some outstanding weather. DH and I took advantage of it today. I did about 45 minutes of trail running, while he mountain biked with me. Planning a longer run on the weekend. I have started also occasionally going to one of our indoor tracks, but am running outside as much as possible. This is my most favourite time of the year for trail running. It is our Thanksgiving this weekend too. Vicci, I am so sorry to hear about your running issues. i do know pickleball! Many folks from my run club play it. Ana, good on you to get in the hikes and walks and yoga, and I don't think reporting on that will be boring at all. Would love to read about it. looking forward to hearing about any and all active adventures!

Ana, did you get a lot of mushrooms? It's nice to get an activity in PLUS fresh veggies at the same time. And no, posting your low-impact activities will not be boring-- please join in. Alicia, congrats on completing the half! And also on the fact that you continued afterward-- 15 miles a week is great. Hope that you and DH have been able to get outdoors on your long weekend! Happy Thanksgiving, Nat! I'm guessing that the little guy still has you running around a lot, but have you been able to get a long trail run in this weekend? This week was pickleball (we play outdoors on Tuesday, indoors on Friday) and kayaking for a couple of hours as well. This weekend is indoor time. Although not as much as last weekend's over 8" total, we've had about 3" since yesterday morning. And some rather nasty winds, as well. Nice weather is on the way, though, so fingers are crossed!

Hi everyone! Vicci, pickleball outside sounds like fun! That's great that you fit in some kayaking, too. Hope the weather has improved! also interested to hear how Ana's mushrooms are Alicia, nice going on the half and on keeping up the running! How was your long weekend? We got in a nature walk with the little guy today (2 this weekend, very fun) and I also did do my longer run. About 75 minutes, of which about 25 or 30 were on trails. Gorgeous day! We also have been having a wonderful, social weekend.

Good morning! DD ended up taking the train up from NYC to join us for our Columbus Day hike. We did a fairly strenuous 7 or 8-mile hike in the beautiful Shawangunk Mountains nearby. The leaves aren't quite at their peak yet, but the foliage was still gorgeous! My in-laws are visiting for a few days, so I probably won't have too much of an opportunity for workouts till the weekend. Have a great week all!

Hi everyone! Alicia, your hike sounds amazing. How was your in-laws' visit? Another balmy weekend here so I took advantage with many misc outdoor activities yesterday, and an 85 minute run today. Also lots of social stuff, so now time to be domestic and do some cooking for the week. We made a delicious turkey and vegetable soup yesterday to use up the last of the turkey, so that will also be featured at a few meals this week How is everyone?

Happy Tuesday! The warm weather is setting records here, so I'm trying to take advantage of it. I went on a 6-mile run this morning over a pedestrian bridge that crosses the Hudson River, and the foliage was a beautiful distraction. I played tennis yesterday and plan to do so tomorrow as well. We had a very nice visit with my in-laws--Natasha, thanks for asking! We toured a couple of historical homes in the area and also went to NYC to see the 9/11 Memorial Museum--very sobering. Hope everyone else's weather is as gorgeous as it is here!

Uhhh, Nat, an 85-minute run??? I am beyond jealous! Yum on the turkey-veg soup, how very autumn-like. Alicia, we are also unusually warm here. In fact, we are going to the beach tomorrow! Your fall run sounds lovely. We were at our lake house for several days (trying to get some end-of-season maintenance done) and friends who live across the street from us (in DE) came for the weekend. We hiked some nice trails and, like Alicia, I didn't see that the foliage was great since it's early, but it was still very pretty. Friends were impressed with the mountains-- it is pancake-flat here in DE! I played pickleball for almost 2 hours today, then came home and washed windows. The weather is wonderful, and I just want to be outside! Hope that you all have a good week.

Hi everyone! Alicia and Vicci, sounds like you both had great weeks! Good to hear you have also been enjoying the fine weather and foliage. Alicia, your run sounds gorgeous, and you are making me want to take up tennis again. Vicci, your lake house visit sounds heavenly. The little guy and I also did some window washing last weekend. I have 2 runs to report this week and some walking. The runs were just short of 40 minutes earlier in the week, and 95 minutes today through old and new parts of town, again including trails. I have been meandering around town where I please, so have only a rough idea of mileage We also did a lot of social stuff as usual and today we took our son to his first ever class at a cooking studio, with 3 other boys. So cute and such fun! Hoping for more runs this week. Have a great week, everyone! Anyone else want to chime in on any activity? The more the merrier!

What a difference a week makes! Last week we were pushing 80 degrees, and today's high was only in the 40's. And tomorrow we may even see a little snow! I got a 7-mile run in today and a couple of 3- or 4- milers earlier in the week. I have to change my early morning routes to inside our neighborhood since it's getting darker now and the roads are not runner-friendly at all. No tennis so far this week since I've had some morning meetings. Natasha, meandering is a great form of distraction! I don't really get too hung up on mileage, and I don't run with a watch. I used to and found that I was expecting "improvement" every single time and stressing myself out too much. No Garmins or Strava for me! And great minds must think alike since I washed my windows this weekend also

Happy November everyone! Just thought I'd add a little to keep the thread active. Last weekend DH and I did a 5K Halloween fun run to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We dressed as hippies, which was not very creative compared to some of the other runners! It was a little chilly but a fun time and a good cause. Since then I did some speed work on the treadmill and also an 8-mile long run. The temperature yesterday was in the 60's here, so I played a couple of sets of tennis before driving to Massachusetts to meet up with some good friends, one of whom was giving a talk at Williams College. We had a very enjoyable 5-mile hike, and even though the foliage was past its prime, the views were fantastic, and the company even better! Hope everyone else had a good week--please share!

I'm here! Thanks for sharing about your week, Alicia - sounds like a really good one! Great combination of running (including a fun race), hiking, and social time I have a couple of runs to report too - shorter one yesterday, longer one today - as well as a hike and a spin. It has also been really warm here, and was sunny both days this weekend, so we took advantage of it. The foliage is surprisingly good here given the time of year. The leaves are coming down, but more slowly than usual, and even though it's been a warm fall, there is some good colour. Trick or treating with the little guy was a lot of fun and very cute. Hope everyone else had a good week! Please stop by to say hi even if you have no workouts to report... I won't judge!

Hi All! Just wanted to bump the thread up. Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving! We were in SC visiting my in-laws and, of course, ate way too much food. I was able to go for short (~3.5 mile) runs 3 days while we were there, which was probably the equivalent of one piece of pie. This time of year is always difficult: too much food and drink, not enough free time, and weather not as conducive to being active outside. How do all of you deal with trying to stay in shape over the holidays?
