Just rec'd a new Instant Pot cookbook: Super Shortcut Instant Pot by Jeffrey Eisner & Aleksey Zozulya, Little, Brown and Company (2023); ISBN 978-0-316-48533-3 I thought I'd share what he says about what NOT to pressure cook: KINDS OF PASTA: "You can’t pressure cook chickpea or lentil pasta. It will turn to mush. Believe me, I’ve tried." Anybody have items to add...about what NOT to attempt to pressure cook or Instant Pot? (I doubt that many of us will be making chickpea or lentil pasta...but it could happen...)

I followed a Skinnytaste recipe for chicken legs in the pressure cooker.
I cut the time back by a few minutes, but those legs still 'exploded' in the stew and it ended up being inedible with all the bone shards and cartilidge.

That's interesting and good to know! I followed a Skinnytaste recipe for chicken legs in the pressure cooker. I cut the time back by a few minutes, but those legs still 'exploded' in the stew and it ended up being inedible with all the bone shards and cartilidge.

I tried cooking a whole (half) of a butternut squash. it kinda sorta worked but not well. it was bigger squash than the ones shown but cooking it longer didn't get it properly done. some of it got done and some did not, and I lost a whole lot that was still stuck to the skin. what I will try next is slicing and "peeling" the squash into rounds with a cleaver, and putting the chunks in a corningware bowl and setting it in the insta pot on a trivet with some water. if anyone else has tried this Id love to hear what works best.

Traildoggie: You mentioned that yours was bigger "than the ones shown." Were you following a recipe? Just curious. Thanks for the post. It will be interesting to hear about your next try. Good luck!
