LOL
My health update: Been about 3 or 4 weeks in living hell. BUT, it looks like there might be hope. (Called: Prednisone)
Began hurting in several places...and even in old wounds/injuries (like messed up shoulder and clavicle). Near any joints. Upper legs. Back. Been sort of paralyzed. Couldn't lift arms...too painful. Sitting up or sitting down, horribly painful. Been living on Acetaminophen. Makes me sleep lots.
ANYWAY: I finally went to doctor and was told that I probably have PMR. Could tell for sure if the markers for it showed up in blood test. (Which failed after 5 stabs.) Doc also said that regime of Prednisone might knock it down, so I've take TWO pills so far (of P). Already I feel better!!
PMR is normally for white women over 60. No cure. It's an auto-immune disease. Poly something Rhemitoid something. HURTS LIKE HECK. Mine must be extra bad...not just the usual worse in the mornings, as most folks have it. Mine is bad round the clock. Almost zero activity is doable. Even little things like flushing the toilet. GETTING TO THE TOILET. Sitting or getting UP from the toilet. Laying down. Getting up. Pretty much everything.
I have now taken 2 pills about 6 hours ago, and after WEEKS of this, I am suddenly about 50 percent BETTER.
So, If YOU get anything like this, go see doctor. In my case, before they would even THINK about xray's and stuff...They start treating for PMR. SO, they look at your age, if you are a white woman, your symptoms, all over hurt, flu-like hurt (or worse, in my case). I was terrified of Prednosone, but this is a 4 week regimen, where each week the light doseage is reduced to none. It can come back. At this point, I am SO THRILLED to be almost without pain. And I cannot WAIT for breakfast when I take the next 2 pills.
Doc had said: if it's PMR, using Pred will stop hurting within maybe day and a half!! (It stops immune system, which is causing.) Yes, I know...be careful about getting infections. If I do go anywhere I wear good mask and I wash hands all the time. Being very careful and watching for any side effects. None so far...except am so darned happy now that husband is making jokes about the fact that I'm high as a kite with happiness!!
I hope this helps somebody else. Aches and pains can be more than you just overdid it, as I had thought (at first) that I had. 3-4 weeks of hell...might be coming to an end for me.
I can almost raise my arms again. Or no. Feels like I've had several SHOTS in both of them still. But overall, I feel sooo much better. Sorry to go on and on.
SO, how is YOUR HEALTH? Feel free to complain. Sometimes we just NEED to.
I do hope you all are feeling good. SPRING will soon be here!!
Oh, I forgot to mention: PMR...they don't really know what causes. Might be in our genes, might be seasonal...some trigger in our environment. They dunno. IF left untreated (and who COULD? I can't imagine trying to live with that pain) it can lead to death/can turn into 'Giant' something or other (I forget name of it), which is badder.
