HAVE YOU CHANGED?
LOL No, I don't mean menopause. haha (Not that THAT wouldn't be interesting, too.)
What I mean is: my kids have fallen over in shock when told that their mother is suddenly a JOCK! I have out-of-nowhere become a FOOTBALL (NFL mostly) fan. Practically flunked gym as a kid and NEVER had any interest in a bunch of men beating themselves to death over a tiny ball.
BUT I *HAVE* CHANGED. Got up today thinking there were GAMES on tv. NO. Very disappointed! What was I thinking. TOMORROW!!! I suspect that Aaron Rodgers was the main reason I got interested. The man may be slightly nuts (so I kinda hear) but BOY is he amazing to watch. Almost ballet! Beautiful.
OK, so that got me thinking: do we all change so radically about things or at all -- as we grow older? What else about ME and about YOU has changed? Do you ever want to stop discovering? I don't. At the few times in my life that I have felt bored, it felt like deep depression--like something was very very wrong. I hate boredom! I always want something to look forward to.
But enough about me, what about you? Do you surprise yourself? Anything out-of-the blue suddenly sound FUN or GOOD to you? New hobbies? NEW COOKING?? OR, are you into the good and familiar that you've always known and loved? No surprises? I would LOVE to know.
By the way: I'm not a total football freak...and yes, I can barely understand all those complicated rules. (I have tried to read up...but...wow, can they have made it any more complicated?? Which leaves me always wondering: DO ALL THOSE FANS UNDERSTAND ALL THAT STUFF??) What about that poor guy who missed all those field goal (?) kicks? 5 in a row. His ONE job is to kick through that goal post. Man, I sure wouldn't want that job.
PS: Yes, in case you are wondering, I do think a lot about the things these boys might be doing to their brains. I guiltily tell myself I should boycott. But then I think, no matter what I do, they will do it anyway. I am very conflicted.
