We have lost some of our old friends (who first were members of CLBB). I'm going to tell you some reasons (but sorry, I cannot name names).
About 3 yrs ago, one member became convinced that other members were dishing her. When I reviewed all activity, I saw nothing of the kind. She was convinced that 'you are just too nice to see' and she quit. I miss her. She contributed lots of unique posts. I wish we could get her to rejoin, but I never chase or nag members...so never have. I couldn't change her point of view. Do not feel bad, people. I don't think you said or posted anything out of line AT ALL. I'm so sorry about this. Was a few years back.
In 2022, one member had several strokes the year before (she wrote me to explain why she wasn't around much anymore), and then she stopped posting the following year. I am afraid (and guessing) that she lost her battle. ;(
One original member immediately left because of copyright issues (rules at ProBoard). She had history of posting many, many recipes and thought she couldn't do that here.
Her male relative, I think he was very popular back at CLBB, got into some misunderstanding with Bev (our group's maker)--something she posted--and he quit in a rage at her (right when we first started group also).
One member who used to be very active, was always mad at me, and one time got so mad that she removed all posts of hers (over 100)...I forget the details...so I finally gave up trying to deal with her rage and banned her. (She had battled, back in CLBB, with several members. One member told me she would never join us if that person were still here.)
I almost forgot our gal who loved to talk politics. When we stopped that section (Politics) she stopped posting.
Another member, because of political views (in Politics) quit because most folks seemed to differ from her political philosophy. (I suppose she felt like she wasn't among her own kinda folks.)
Those are the people that come to mind ... I'm telling you because you may have wondered where folks have gone. Perhaps we've all grown older and life has intervened. (I know that I have grown much older and have made several changes in my own life, as a result.)
