Dear Private Diary of Mine: I tear up easily. Even today on The View. Whoopie said something that touched me so much and there I was, all swoony and teary eyed. What did she say? Jimmy Falon was guest. He was joyfully telling about his little daughters and how wonderful it is to be with them, their humor, etc. How happy they make him. Whoopie simply said, Yes, it's the best. And just wait -- it's going to get better and better. That was it. The joy and the love from both of them and that last sentence from Whoops, got to me. Funny how some things can do that to you. Whoopie often has that effect on me. Over the last years, as I've come to know her better by watching The View daily, I've come to love her, admire her, to my soul. Wonder if anybody else tears up at certain comments they hear or over-hear. Hmmm...

I wear my heart on my sleeve. This war has made me cry often. Touching, sweet moments make me cry too.

I expect some things to tear me up. (Like you, Wallycat, I wear my heart on my sleeve.) What gets me lately are the unexpected type things. Perhaps getting older makes things dearer? Like you, again, the Ukraine horrors make me cry. Hard to read about or watch. Proud of them, however. Anything we can do, I support. I also tear up thinking about those poor Russians who are forced into this and many die. I feel for their families, too. (I see that many are running and hiding so they can't be made to go.) I never will understand how we have this wonderful, beautiful planet and our SHORT TIME to live on it, yet we besmerch <sp??> and destroy pretty much every bit of it and each other. What the?!) It's crazy to me. Love our planet and each other. It's so simple! <rant over, sorry>

Catbatty, sometimes it is good to put our feelings on "paper." Here's another moving moment, in a good way...we have recently trapped 2 stray/feral cats in our area. We had been feeding them, but raccoons started showing up, so we trapped and took them (separately and different weeks) to the local shelter. The first one was so incredibly sweet. I wept and wept, thinking he would be in a "prison" instead of outdoors. We have friends who volunteer at the shelter and word got back that this first one was an intact male. Poor guy. He is so shy and so demure, we thought it was a female. So the shelter fixed him and wormed him (he also had worms, which would have meant at some point, he'd get sick and not benefit from full nutrition)...and 2 days ago, we heard...He has been adopted!!!!!!!!!!! More tears!! This time, from joy!!!
The second kitty was also a male; bite on his hind end/tail...but neutered. So someone dumped him. He is adjusting and hopefully will also get adopted. More tears!

Great job, Wallycat and husband!!!!!!! These wild babies often die in agony, so I read. We've trapped. We raised some of them. (Down where we are, the coyotes get them if left outside. Portland Oregon has coyotes out in broad daylight, taking little dogs and cats. It's good to get these babies to a safe place.) HUGS and MORE HUGS TO YOU!!!!!! (And isn't the popping up of NO KILL shelters wonderful? I never heard of that when I was younger.) PS: I am so happy that both these babies you've rescued are finding some love and safety. Wonderful story. Thanks. Catbatty Catbatty, sometimes it is good to put our feelings on "paper." Here's another moving moment, in a good way...we have recently trapped 2 stray/feral cats in our area. We also have coyotes here on the Peninsula. Worse, the bobcats. Those are deadlier for cats than the coyotes. We also raised a litter of 5, plus 1 stray (now 15 years old and fading). Yet more tears on that front...sigh.
I learned our shelter is not a no-kill, but they wait a VEERY long time and only if desperately needed. Did I say more tears?!
