I think this is the KAF recipe I've made many times over the years. I would always use some type of mild oil (that basically was used for cast iron and some occasional baking recipes) Here's the recipe. www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/applesauce-oatmeal-bread-recipe (If same one, I cut back on sugar, recall using both brown and white sugar ?, leave out allspice and nutmeg since I never have on hand. And I think I cook longer.) I only have olive oil and avocado oil on hand since that is what I use. Can i just sub avocado oil --- it seems pretty mild tasting, at least the one I have. I'm making the cake for others, if just for me, wouldn't think twice. And anyone use avocado oil for cleaning etc their cast iron? It has a high smoke point, so would think it would be ok. Thx,
