Sablefish (Black Cod) is a very oily, unctuous, yummy fish. The miso-glaze was all the rage. I found this (I think she used to write for eating well) recipe and tweaked it. OMG. Instead of agave syrup, I used authentic hon-mirin. I upped the garlic and ginger. I didn't drain the fish from the marinade when I cooked it. SOOOOOOOO good.

I am going to give this recipe a try as I would like to include interesting fish recipes in my menu plans. It was fun to have this new website to explore. Thanks for your post.

I had black cod at a sushi restaurant years ago and it was absolutely divine and I had to recreate it at home. I found this recipe www.foodandwine.com/recipes/black-cod-miso and it turned out just ok - certainly wasn't a "make again" dish. I'll have to try your recipe if I ever find black cod again. Thanks for posting.
