Piccolo Bread purchased several days ago, never cut into, is now pretty hard. It's so beautiful! WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH IT??? Can it be uses for crumbs or croutons? Or what? Dressing?
Any tested and true uses from my buddies here? I can't be the only one this happens to, I figure. THANKS.

If it truly is hard as a rock, then bread crumbs are probably your best bet. Blitz it up in a food processor or vita mix type blender; then freeze the crumbs for whenever you need them. If it has a bit of life left, maybe it can be saved in a panzanella type salad where a vinaigrette may soften it up enough. Or maybe softened in milk to use for meatballs or a panade in a meat sauce, meat loaf etc...

Thanks ladies. I am encouraged, if not now, then for the future uses! This loaf is rock hard so I will either toss or try to make bread crumbs. I love JP's uses in his video. Isn't he SO normal that he inspires you? He does me. I have always enjoyed hearing him tell about how his mother wasted nothing and her creative uses. So, his fried pancakes (savory or sweet) are such cool ideas. Wish I'd thought of those when my kids were young and we were broke and needed filling cheap eats for snacks.
