Hi, I have a few recipes that I went ahead and put into Mastercook even though they are symbols in place of the amount of a certain ingredient. This recipe is Apple Cake posted by Gail CLBB 10-27-01. It has butter or margarine, sugar, sifted flour, 2 eggs beaten, 1 can Comstock Apple pie filling, 1 T. lemon juice, cinnamon, salt, baking powder. The copyright information "Love is a Hadassah Cookbook". I have searched online using that recipe name and the cookbook name but haven't found it yet. It sounds like the perfect dessert for an evening this week.
Thank you for your help.
Carrie

Am I understanding that you re looking for amounts of ingredients in a cake or pudding recipe Gail posted? She is active on this forum, so she should be able to fill them in for you. I looked but I don't have anything matching your description.

Yes, the amounts that were posted by Gail (Your Favorite Thanksgiving recipes) for Apple Pudding. There are question marks in the amount areas for ingredients except for the lemon juice and 2 eggs. Sorry I didn't make myself clear enough. My head is still rattled after my husband's Dr. appointment yesterday.

Sure thing. It was a recipe from a ladies' group my aunt belonged to, in fact, the recipe she'd make every Thanksgiving in lieu of sweet potatoes (which apparently my uncle disliked) and it grew to be a family favorite. APPLE PUDDING 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1/2 cup sugar 3/4 cup sifted flour 2 eggs, beaten 1 can Comstock apple pie filling 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Melt butter, add sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, lemon juice. Beat well. Add beaten eggs and pie filling. Bake in very well greased 8" x 8" square baking pan at 350ยบ for 45 minutes or until nice and brown and broken on top. Double recipe for 9" x 13" pan. PS I think I know what happened with the original recipe. At the time I typed it, I was very big on using the character map used in Microsoft Windows for my fractions and symbols (ie typing in ALT + 0186 to display the symbol for degrees). When CL did a software update, my symbols didn't translate to the new format, hence the question marks and other weird designations. Sorry about that.

Gail, Thank you so much for the recipe. That just sounds like comfort food and I think we are heading into "fall" temps or as much as the Houston area can. My Northern bones says it's Autumn! That's no problem with the goofy symbols. It's beyond my understanding of what happens in the computer world. Though I did notice some recipes had the symbols in ingredient list and when I transferred over to Mastercook they had the actual amounts in the recipe. Thank you again. Carrie

Glad to hear it--as would be my Aunt Miriam, if she were still with us. ...and it's kind of fitting that you made it last night-- the same night we were enjoying a gathering at the house of Aunt Miriam's daughter and son-in-law, remembering her as well as other departed members of the family.

awww, that gives me goosebumps. She's smiling down from heaven that one of her beloved recipes was passed on and enjoyed very much!
