I'm going to visit my dad in early September --- so excited! I'm not sure for one or two weeks ...
So now what to do about my houseplants? Unfortunately none of my friends live real close so I could give them a key. And rather not have to try to bring the plants to them (and some have pets). And the few people that I knew in my bldg have moved or are away
I have four small plants (about 4-6 inch pots) that I'm worried about ---- my favorite lemon lime maranta, philodendron brazil, crispy wave fern. golden pothos (ok the first two are my favs out of those). My snake and zz plants and a few others will be fine.
And then there is my big and beautiful 10 or 12 inch Monstera Delicioso.
So for those that have houseplants, what do you do when you go away? I know there are some gadgets that you can put in plants -- or make. But I've never tried/don't know if they work etc. I just did a quick look online so far -- but will be looking later today.
If I knew I was going for just a week or so, it would likely be fine --- I would put them together, close the blinds a bit to make the room darker, keep a bit cooler. The maranta is the one that might have issues for if a week. or a bit more. : (
A big thanks!!

Thanks so much mcgee! I used to do the same thing you've done years back and it worked great. Thanks for the reminder. And very interesting to read their other tips. I bought a two packages of something like this since I read good things about them. I will try them out before I go away. I read most use it when away, but some also use on hard to reach plants, plants that need lots of water etc. If I knew I was only going to be away a week than I wouldn't be too worried.
