I love a good ice coffee and often make cold brew to have in the fridge. I typically go to a favorite shop and they grind the beans coarse for me.
I'm almost out of coffee and wondering if I can get something similar in the supermarket that is already a coarsely ground? I've never bough coffee in the supermarket so I have no idea. You can't use the grinders in the supermarkets, so grinding my beans is out and the coffee shops are closed. I bet I can get something online, but I wanted to try local. And I don't think I want to get into buying a coffee grinder.
And, If you drink cold brew do you have a favorite already made one? I've tried a few (the ones sold in the refrigerated section and some have been great) -- but certainly cheaper to make at home, plus I'm trying to limit shopping.
Anyone try those metal filters that fit in a wide Ball jar to make cold brew? I've just used coffee filters, but love the idea of no waste.
Thanks!

I guess I live on the edge - I use regular grind for hot coffee and I use regular grind for cold brew. I don't see the advantage of investing in a metal filter when coffee filters cost less than a penny each. I also use coffee filters to drain plain yogurt to make Greek yogurt and/or Yogurt Cheese.

I've only made cold brew with regular grind coffee from the supermarket. My digestive system does not tolerate hot brewed coffee at all, but it is OK with cold brew. That said, I don't drink it much, decaf cold brew iced coffee for an occasional treat. I filter it using my melita cone with an unbleached filter and the filters and spent coffee get composted.

I use to make it just during the summer. It's more like a season drink for me. It's very tasty to drink it on a hot day of summer or spring. So that's why I decided to get a coffee maker with a cold brew system. It wasn't so expensive. I found the best option due to this article on coffeespiration.com/. I found it at a very accessible price, and all my family is using it. Especially, my mom, she is just in love with it. She drinks it even in the winter season with some ice. The taste of it it's nice.
