I've seen this recipe mentioned online a bunch of times the last few weeks. And it gets amazing reviews! Some info .... "Out of all the styles of pizza, we’ve chosen Crispy Cheesy Pan Pizza as our 2020 Recipe of the Year. With its crispy golden edges, gooey layer of cheese (right to the edge!), and thick yet delicate crust, it has a texture and taste that make you want more. Plus, the crust has just five simple ingredients: it’s easy to pull off in a home kitchen." Would it be wrong to make this my screensaver? Just kidding. I thought I would post. www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/crispy-cheesy-pan-pizza-recipe. Picture from their website.

Oh, this made me laugh! I like how you think, applecrisp! This recipe makes me drool, but I am SO bad at yeast baking. It never works. But I so am craving pizza and don't want to do takeout. IDK, maybe I should try it.

OH KING ARTHUR! A NATIONAL TREASURE! The photos of this pizza are just amazing. Thanks for pointing it out to us, Applecrisp. I don't think I've seen it before. AND NOW I MUST HAVE IT IN PERSON! Can't wait to show my sweetie (he's away backpacking far from humans). He's our pizza maker. Anybody use provolone in place of mozzarella? I think I prefer it but will have to do more testing.

I have used provolone instead of moz. Much more flavor. I use cheddar cheese or jack cheese when I make bbq chicken pizza. I've also used the fresh moz, sliced (costco sells it pre-sliced from Belgioso). It's a little 'wet' so I've gotten to freezing it and it dries it out a bit. That picture is drool worthy...I prefer a thin crust but I would not turn that away!

Not usually a pan pizza fan here either, but this one is getting copied and pasted to try sometime down the road! Tonight I used my homemade pizza dough to make copycat Costco chicken bakes. Turned out tasty and I had some to freeze too.

It turned out pretty well. I was concerned about the dough because it seemed pretty wet and sticky but it baked up nicely. I don’t think I’d make it again though because we like a thinner crust. I know some people said they only got 2 servings from it but we each had one piece for dinner which was plenty and then I had one today for lunch 4 hours ago and I’m still stuffed. I’ll have the last piece tomorrow. Crust was way to thick for DH - he ate it last night and enjoyed it but said the rest was mine. Here’s my photo .

It is too bad it wasn't a big hit. It got such great reviews and is all over the internet that I thought I would post --- maybe they are all deep dish types. It kind of looks like focaccia but with cheese. Pizza is one of my all time favorites, but I do prefer thin crust too. I haven't had pizza since early March, this could be a record for me. Take care!

Applecrisp, I’m glad you posted it and I’m glad I made it. And you’re right, it was more like focaccia bread. I was thinking I might try it again but with a larger pan because the dough was tasty but a little too thick for us.

We're thin crust people as well----so while we really liked it for what it was (which is as many have mentioned, more of a deep dish/focaccia), it's likely not going to make our standard rotation. It is delicious, don't get me wrong---just not our preferred type of pizza.
