Hi, I'm so glad to have found this forum website and hope that somebody is able to answer my question.
Hubby and I are new to the Instant Pot and absolutely love it. I have downloaded the “Instant Pot Cookbook” by Jennifer Smith onto my Android tablet. Then I found all of the great recipes with pictures online. Found that I really didn't need it but now that I bought it, I'm trying to use it. At this point I'm unable to do so. I have been googling for instructions but can't find any. It's probably too simple to put instructions online. Unfortunately. I just can't make it work.
I have Android Galaxy Tab A. with all updates current. I open the book with Adobe Reader and see the contents but am unable to open any recipes from there. When I tap on any item on in the index, nothing happens. Sometimes I get the message: “This page does not reflow”. Whatever that means.... I hope that I was able to explain my question. If anybody has any ideas, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks

Great to meet you, Ann! Wish I could help. I only know how to read ebooks on my laptop so far. BUT, I'll take some stabs at getting you further along maybe. (Maybe not.) Hopefully, someone else will have successfully done what you want to do.
Which book is it? I'm guessing its extension is .epub. That is what opens with Adobe. If not, then perhaps that's why. Where did you download it from? Amazon?
Could it be that you are trying to load some other extension into Adobe and Adobe doesn't 'know' that extension? Which extension is listed on your ebook?
I have one friend who MIGHT read ebooks on her Android device. Maybe if I know more about what you have I can ask her for help.
AGAIN: so happy to have you join us. Agree: Instant Pot is such a great addition to our kitchen! We use it weekly.

Thank you, Catbatty. The file extension I guess is: 1.PDF It is the "Instant Pot Cookbook" by Jennifer Smith and I bought the book on eBay. As I mentioned, I can't find any instructions on this cookbooks website or anywhere else. I guess, it's too easy. Just not for me....(-: `It seems to me when opening the contents of the book, I should be able to tap on any recipe to open it, but it's not happening. At least since then I have found so many recipes even with pictures or videos online. As I said, we love our new Instant Pot and are looking forward to try all of the new things. BTW, it's a 6 qt. bought at Costco. Most of all, thank you so much for writing back. ann

Ann, PDF's are extremely unreliable--there is no concrete, certain method for making them. That may be your entire problem. Not every pdf is readable in any device. I know in my Windows laptop, a pdf 'reader' helps. Maybe a tablet requires one. Do you have a computer you can view it with? I do have a fairly decent PDF converter (to Word or Text) and if it is composed of photos, instead of text, I have used OCR programs to convert to text. I recently found a program that can read photos of text and convert to plain text document. ANYWAY: I dunno. I'll ask my friend if she tries to read pdfs or ebooks on her tab.
I have several ebooks about Instant Pots. I get them from our public library (online) and I buy them from Amazon. I need to USE them. So far, I've made most veggies in ours. My daughter has been doing pasta and bean dishes. I've yet to try those kinds of thing. I have other friends who have made beef and chicken dishes. No matter who or where, everyone seems thrilled with their results (some, after a few trial and errors...but mostly right off the bat!)
We ONLY do corn on the cob now in the IP. So crisp and perfect. No sog from water. Potatoes...ONLY WAY TO GO. Again, no sog from water. Most everything veg we now prefer from our 6-qt Instant Pot.
Are you looking for a particular type of recipe to make in your new IP?

Ann,
Just checked with Pam. (Mastercook support...longtime friend and smart lady.) I mistakenly told her 'phone' but I think her answer is also correct for a tablet.
You need to install a PDF reader application in order to read pdfs. (And I say: if they -- PDF's -- are made correctly.)
Hugs

Wow, this time it actually went trough. I have downloaded the PDF reader but it didn't help. Oh well, in the meantime I have found so much helpful information even with pictures and videos. I have tried to contact the eBay seller to maybe get some help but this person is not an eBay member anymore. Hmm...Anyway, I really appreciate your and your friends help very much. It's a wonderful forum.
