1 tablespoon coffee-flavor liqueur (flavored coffee creamer, or milk)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-1/4 cups flour
2 tablespoons instant coffee

Beat the shortening with mixer 30 seconds. Mix in 1 cup sugar, baking powder and salt, until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, coffee flavored liqueur (milk or coffee flavored creamer) and vanilla, mix until well-combined. Beat in the flour 1 cup at a time. Knead in the final 1/4 cup by hand. Cover with plastic wrap, refrigerate 1 hour until firm. Shape into 1" balls. Combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar and instant coffee granules. Roll the balls in the mixture. Place 2" apart on parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake 350 degrees, 9-11 minutes, until the tops start to crack and the sides are almost set. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss in the center of cookies, let sit 5 minutes until melted. With tip of a knife. or back of a spoon, slowly swirl.
