I got an insert with Southern Living -- says new CL is bigger and better than ever and has some sample recipes. Guessing the website is gone forever though.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the forums came back...all the TimeLife. They had a good thing going so maybe they can adjust it all for the times and go on. Expect the unexpected! LOL

Maybe they can re-name their magazine or put a new spin on it since so few people are into low-fat geared foods. They'd make a killing if they focused on mediterranean. I wish they could partner with the Blue Zones folks and combine some of eating well with blue zone ideals. --- adding: Maybe they can rename themselves as "Eating Right"

Not sure I'd jump at another cooking magazine. I'm letting most magazine subscriptions taper out. I get more than enough online, and recently dumped a load of cookbooks too. I like to try new things but with online so available, I don't se books or magazines much anymore. I think its similar to why music albums died. usually a select few things you want to try, and the rest is ignored or ads. CL's last format was annoying.

Oh -- the last CL format was awful. Look like they are only doing 4 issues a year, so maybe more along the lines of the special interest/seasonal publications than a monthly magazine. The insert with sample recipes looks more like the CL or yore rather than the one that died. The subscription price is $20/yr or $30 for 2 years -- so that's $4-5 an issue. It will have to be quality to gain any traction at that price, but 4 issues rather the 12 reduces clutter and makes sense to follow seasons rather than needing every month. We shall see. But it is interesting that they stuck with something so many did not like, ran it into the ground and then come back just a year later. I wonderr if they had to get out of some bad contracts.
