Long shot, but does anyone recall a zesty-ish sweet tater salad that had a popular run on the old board? I think maybe bobmark posted it....I have looked for 2 days thru my beloved old board printouts and can’t find it . I don’t think it had mayo, maybe olive oil, lime juice, green onions? Sound familiar to anyone? I made it several times for various cookouts, but it’s been a while...Dear nephew asked about it recently and we both started drooling, remembering how much we liked it. Thank you!

This is the only sweet potato salad recipe that I have in my recipe folder from CLBB. It does not sound like the one you are searching for, but I figured I'd post it for you just in case.
Sweet-potato Salad with Spicy Peanut Dressing
1/4 cup rice vinegar 1/4 cup soy sauce 3 Tbs mayonnaise 4 tsp minced peeled fresh ginger 4 tsp toasted sesame oil (such as Asian) 4 garlic cloves, minced 1 Tbs peanut butter 2 tsp chili-garlic sauce 1 1/2 tsp golden brown sugar 2 lbs red-skinned sweet potatoes (yams), peeled, cut into 1/2-inch cubes 1 1/2 cups sugar snap peas, cut crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces 1 cup thinly sliced green onions 1/3 cup coarsely chopped dry-roasted peanuts
1. Whisk first 9 ingredients in medium bowl to blend.
2. Add enough water to large saucepan to reach depth of 1/2 inch. Bring to boil; add sweet potatoes and cook until just tender, about 5 minutes. Drain; cool.
3. Mix sweet potatoes, dressing, peas, and green onions in large bowl. Season salad with salt and pepper. (Can be made 4 hours ahead. Cover and refrigerate.) Sprinkle salad with peanuts and serve.

I was not very good at annotating where recipe came from but I have this one in my files...I enjoyed it...
Sweet Potato & Apple Salad with Chipotle Lime Dressing The salad: 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 3/4-inch dice 1 large apple, such as Fuji, Gala, or Granny Smith, cut into 1/2-inch chunks 1/2 medium red bell pepper, chopped 1/2 green pepper, chopped 1 celery stalk, chopped 1/4 red onion, chopped 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro The dressing: 2 chipotle chilies en adobo 1/4 cup lime juice 1 tablespoon honey or molasses 2 tablespoons tomato catsup 1 clove garlic, peeled 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil Instructions Place the sweet potatoes in boiling, lightly salted water in a large saucepan and boil, covered, for 10 to 12 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside on a plate. Combine the apple, bell peppers, celery, red onion, and cilantro in a large bowl. Add the cooked potatoes, mixing lightly. Set aside. Combine all the dressing ingredients, except for the oil, in a food processor and puree together. Drizzle in the oil and continue to process until thick. Add the dressing to the vegetables and toss well.

Thx. Hope you find the recipe. I don't think I've had/made a sweet potato salad before.

HOT DIGGITY!! I believe that’s it, applecrisp! THANK YOU!💙💙💙 The chili powder, lime, and olive oil sound right! Printing out 10 copies for safekeeping! Woohoo! And the other 2 sound divine, too, with some amazing textures and flavors! Printing those off, too! Thank you all for taking the time to consider my plea!
I have been kinda been lost, cooking- and baking-wise, the last 3 yrs. My mom passed away, she was a great encourager and appreciated and (usually🙄) delighted in my productions that I shared with her. Being orphaned hit me hard, she was the last of her generation that handed down tips and recipes and knowledge (DH’s Mother is still living but has never been appreciative or sharing, food-wise or otherwise), and I don’t know why I lost so much interest in something I enjoyed with her gone, but as soon as/IF! it EVER cools down, I am determined to resume baking and to try to find that joy again. I just ordered some boiled cider from KAF to do some goodies. I look forward to sharing successes (and failures) here like we did for so many fun years on the CLBB. I’m so glad many of you are still here! Hugs from N.C.!💙

joanieb ---
Great -- what a coincidence I had that on my computer. I thought since it has many of the same ingredients you mentioned, I thought I would post it. I thought that even if not the same you can just tweak it to your liking. If you make it, would love a review.
Sorry to hear about your mom. The cooler months is a great time to get back in the kitchen and have some fun. Maybe start slow and make an old favorite (or hey something new). I bet your mom would be happy that you are back doing something you so enjoyed.
Hope you pop back and share and/or maybe get some new ideas ....

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother joanieb. Hope you get back to cooking and baking. See it as doing it in her honor. Hugs
As for the sweet potato salad that applecrisp helped you find - that one is our favorite. Coincidentally it's on the menu for tomorrow. I have also tried it with adding drained black beans.
