I am hoping someone will remember, and be able to post, a recipe for an Overnight Casserole from CLBB.
I no longer have my working notes, but I created a new recipe, that bore no resemblance to the original recipe, except that it was baked in an oven that had not been preheated. (That is the only, but important, clue I have).

Was it an egg casserole or something like overnight french toast? Are you looking for the original recipe or the one you tweaked?

I still have my own recipe, which was not tweaked and was entirely original, except for the idea of starting to bake it in a cold oven. The original was an eggy casserole with bread cubes. I can't remember. but I am pretty sure there was no ham, sausage etc. like most traditional overnight casseroles.

Lea... do you remember the year or year and month you posted your revised version? It will help...because in my stuff, I get a ton of hits and I think I have to search through each one. A date or even year would help. Do you think you posted it in Hits and Misses (the full recipe)...or any certain thread name that you recall or even just think you posted it in?
Edit to add: Do you remember the author of the original recipe? Was the word 'Breakfast' in the recipe title of either?

It was probably 4-5 years ago. I never posted by own recipe to CLBB. I only chose to use the cold oven method because I didn't want to place a cold glass casserole in a preheated hot oven. (I've googled and I assure you that I wasn't violating any copyright laws, unless King Arthur Flour, FN chefs, cooks.com, blogs and more websites can also be accused of that, in regard to the cold oven method.) I guess the prize is the original recipe!

Lea, Copyright issues were not my concern. I'm just trying to get words I can enter into my search criteria thing (or narrower data that I can use to select from the Hits I get back). I guess I did not understand what you are looking for. You are not looking for your own revision, you are looking for your own (?) or somebody else's post for 'Overnight Casserole' ? In the stuff I've saved, I get lots of hits...but I don't see the recipe itself (I think). Least, not at this point. I'm using the Search that is built into my Evernote saves. We WILL find it.

Same here. 2 laptops. Files everywhere. 2 sets of Evernote accounts (don't ask. one is free one; one I broke down and bought...dunno how come they are letting me have to accounts and I've zero clue about how to unite them!) Plus, I have all kinds of other saves. I love that we all can help each other like this. We can try! I haven't even LOOKED yet at all the Mastercook cookbooks I've made over the years ... CLBB grabs. Sheesh. IF we knew that the recipe came from a certain magazine or book, that would make it easier to find. I have a free program called EVERYTHING... and it searches like you would not believe...for any file names or folder names or extensions... or parts thereof. I haven't tried there yet either. Hang in there, Lea. We have many haystacks! LOL (EDITED TO ADD: BUT THIS IS FUN!)Just wanted to let you know that I am searching through my files of things I saved from the BB. I guess the prize is the original recipe! Remove the casserole/strata from the fridge 30 minutes prior to baking, if you're worried about the glass/pyrex exploding in a preheated oven. Bake at about 325 - 350 with the rack in the center of the oven about 35 - 45 mins (or till cooked thru). Recreate the recipe w the ingredients you recall or whatever you like i.e. spinach or tonatoes and cheese etc. They are all pretty much the same - torn bread/croissant or cubes, beaten egg and milk poured over all, cover refrigerate. I made a caprese strata w croissants and the usual caprese suspects. Tasted like pizza. I just wing it. Save

It wasn't a recipe/find. Those were my suggestions/procedure re any concerns about placing the cold dish in a preheated oven. As I understood it, the OP created their own recipe. You could preheat the oven or not, as the cold refrigerated dish is on a countertop coming to room temp. I've had my square and rectangular glass/pyrex dishes for many years, and have not had a problem with them shattering - if that was the concern. However, I'd check them for scratches, and/or place a cookie/baking sheet on the bottom of the oven. That's how I interpreted the subject. i call it a strata instead of a casserole. Hope that helps. Here's an example from ATK: www.americastestkitchenfeed.com/bake-it-better/2012/08/secrets-to-perfect-strata/SaveSaveSave
